manual vs. automatic transmission
hey guys, i've been looking into the tC since the first week it came out and no other car has come close to it! it's GREAT for its price and everything! but the thing is that i don't know whether or not to get a manual or automatic transmission..
i've never owned a stick shift car, but i know how to drive one decently (and with experience, i am sure that i will be able to drive it naturally within a matter of days.) when i looked at cars before the tC, i usually considered the manual over the auto because it saved a whole lot of money and the gas mileage is a bit better. however, on the tC, you do save a whole lot of money (about $1k?) but the mileage is slightly better on the auto because of the electronically controlled transmission..
so right now, i'm stuck in the middle of deciding whether to buy a manual or automatic.. i'm fine with driving either one for the long run, but the gas mileage thing just kinda hits me. is it really worth paying all that extra money for an automatic? or is it just better to stick with the manual transmission and have about $1k extra?
please help me, guys!
thanks in advance!

It seems to me that if you don't know which to get, you might as well get the auto-box. In the long run, I don't think the gas mileage will outway the option for the auto. And if you sit on the fence chances are you enjoy the convienience (sp?) of an auto-box more than the desire to row your own gears. If you have driven manuals in the past and are so-so to them, you'll probably get tired of driving it in heavy stop and go traffic and so on... Manuals are for control freaks
