...but how are you going to pay cas for it..with only 15K?
TC is ok, but the 350 is much nicer....
Here's some food for thought:
(Taken from collegeboard.com)
"Research shows that people with college degrees have more job choices and earn more money. In fact, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics, those with bachelor's degrees earn over 80 percent more on average than those with a high school diploma. Over a lifetime, the gap in earning potential between a high school diploma and a B.A. degree (or higher) is more than $1 million. "
Now that's some serious money for one hell of a dream car. An education is something that will last a lifetime and is a worthwhile investment. A car will last you maybe 10 years, and depreciates.
Seriously, give this some serious thought, and while I know there are many other factors that go into your decision process for continuing your education, I think you should give yourself every opportunity to succeed.

Yeah, I hate to sound like a pain but if someone gave me $15,000 for college, I'd be on that like rice on Civic's. Unless you have some awesome background or skills, you're really going to wish you took this opportunity.
Throw the money into savings or bonds and collect the interest. Believe me, there will most likely be a time when college sounds like a good idea.
Ok, parenting mode turned OFF! (And WTF? I'm only 24 and talking like this!)

Well, I believe that he will sell his TC, and the money from that sale + the 15k from grandpa will be enough to cover the 350z.
Blah, do what you want; your life, your money. College isn't for everyone. And who says you have to use that 15k for college. Student loans are much nicer than car loans...

I'm a freshman in college right now, and awaiting shipment on my Scion. I can't wait personally and feel spoiled my parents are paying for it (I go to college for free via scholarships, they got me a car. Not a bad deal). Don't make the wrong choice here. 350z is an awesome car, but get a degree or something and do something more with your life. On your tombstone, I doubt it will read "He had a 350z as a teenager. Therefor, he was the greatest man around".
Unless your stupid, then take the car

Well here my take on things, to clear it up for a few members, HE is going to sell his tC for maybe 14k-15k hopefully + 15k from grandpa = 29-30k. But Depends on what you can get for the tC.
But let me tell you , an education is a much better idea. I myself went the education route and drove an older car/used car for all of the time i was in school. The tC is my first new car and let me tell you, I put all of my money into college, so i really appreciate buying my first new car. I know with my education and the job i have now I can afford a 350z in two years or less. So I can wait. But a few other members are right, an education lasts a life time, it is something that cant be taken away from you. A dream car can be stolen, wrecked, vandalized, towed, impounded, etc. Again, a sweet car is nice and all, but is sooo short-term.. look at your future. You have a car that is really sweet and you have the money to go to college. I really recommend going to school. I got went and put in the time and got both my bachelors and masters and now I have my choice of jobs.... At 26, i am a very happy man.

okay I feel a old man for telling you this...
CARS DEPRECIATE. AKA Lose money.
Take the $15,000 and buy some rental property. Fix it up, sell in later years and make the money. Houses rarely depreciate.
Most of the people I know that didnt go to college are broke...and the ones that didnt go are rich because they invested their money.
Read the book "total money makeover" by Dave Ramsey
You will not regret passing this up.
Also check out "the millionaire next door"
Goes to show most millionaires (like over 70%) do not buy new cars, wears a watch that is worth less than $10 and so on.
If you are still reading, rethink what you are contemplating.

Another consideration is car insurance! Assuming you're around 18, the premiums for a 350z will be ridiculous. It's hard to imagine how you're going to be able to keep up with them. There's nothing worse than knowing the first three months of the year's income is going straight to car insurance.
