When I lived in MD, they checked for CEL and put you on rollers to measure exhaust gases. Not sure if it's still the same since 2004. If you ditched both of your cats, odds are you aren't going to pass. Be sure to reset your battery just before pulling in to be sure there are no "ghost" codes that could fail you also.

I had a 1996 ranger at the time so I don't know what they do anymore. That was 2 cars ago lol. I live in the land of the free in FL where there are no front tags, no emissions ever, no inspections ever, and 70 mph speed limits now Not to mention the liberal attitude towards dark azz tint.

er what if you don't pass with turbo kit? they're gonna make u rip everything out, test it again, and it's gonna charge u another $500-1000 to put it back on?

You go home and get two cat's put in on a scrap exhaust and come back! Then go back home and put on your normal turbo exhaust again.

It depends entirely on your location. Every state has different standards, and every county in each state has different standards. Live in the city, very strict standards. Live in the middle of nowhere, very lax standards. Where I live they don't put you on the rollers anymore if your car is OBD2 (1996 and newer vehicles). So as long as the secondary 02 sensor is happy, they're happy. But you will fail a visual if you run a header.

I'm md, they do not do a visual inspection. As long as you don't throw a code, you pass if your obd2. This means, even with a turbo kit, you can pass as long as your not throwing codes. If you are throwing codes, go to ptuning and get a pro tune
