MSD ignition systems
has anyone had any experience with one of these performance ignition systems? Did it improve gas mileage, acceleration? How do you know which one is right for your setups needs? Would you see any benefit to a stock car? Thanks, John
Whatever you do, be careful. I tried installing a 'universal' MSD system on my old car because there wasn't a specific system/installation guide for my car and it was hell. Huge electrical problems, and just generally hard to figure out. I even contacted MSD, who sent me directions that they claimed were made specifically for my make/model/year, but it referenced parts and locations that didn't exist on that model or generation.
Any of the problems were no doubt my fault, since I tried to install a system I didn't understand that well without any clear instructions, but from my experience and the hassles I went through compared to the benefits I've heard these systems provide, I'd say steer clear unless you've done some other mods that demand a higher powered ignition.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, the type of ignition the tC has will limit what type of system you could install.
