Do they realize that most tC accidents aren't caused by tC drivers??????? I say the writer should study for different article that proves that statement.

Ever since my own accident,I've been thinking of a new mean for "tC."

"toyota's Curse."

The Scion tC has 65 percent more insurance claims than the average.
:o

I seriously hope the xb2 doesn't fall on that list. My rates are cheap since my insurance company considers it a wagon lol.

Honestly I'm not shocked, as careful as you, I or anyone else may be with their rides on this forum the facts remain that most of the cars listed (tc, cobalt, tiburon, galant, etc.) fall primarily into the first time driver market - and with that comes accidents - the rest of us good drivers may get a bad rep and god forbid bad insurance rates but it is what it is

how teh H did "Mitsubishi Galant" get on the list of "sporty cars favored by "The Fast and the Furious" generation of young enthusiast drivers" ?

and the article states why these cars are on the top of the list.

young drivers + sporty cars = oops

I like how they started off with this;

"Steer clear of anyone driving a Scion tC"

That's right biscuits, get the F outta my way!

Comes as no surprise to me. But also for those who aren't particularly bad drivers, a lowered tC is hard to see on the freeway apparently, because i get people trying to merge into my car all the time.

More importantly though, MSN needs to find something else to write about. Get some originality here I've seen this article like 4 times before already.

Well... when the first waves of people pouring in to buy this car were a bunch of fast and furious wannabes (those of you that have also been on SL and in the tC realm since they first came out know what I mean) ... you end up with a bunch of wrecked cars. Obvously it has nothing to do with the car.. it is the market that it is pushed towards. And then add to that the fact that they were marketed to the young generation in general and it makes for even more accidents. Teen drivers are much less experienced and in general make less informed decisions and poor decisions more often.. thus their accident rates are higher.... so a car that is marketed primarilly to them will see more wrecks.

In other words, it is common sense that sensationalist media and untalented writers have to make into some story. Kind of like saying "People who fall off of skyscrapers tend to splatter more than those that fall off of their porches"

Somebody jacked the antenna of the tC in the pic...

Cliff Notes:
"What we are seeing is a toxic combination of affordable, high-performance vehicles in the hands of drivers lacking maturity and good judgment," said HLDI Senior Vice President Kim Hazelbaker.

'Nuff said.

They aren't high performance cars, but they have plenty of power (even stock) to get an inexperienced driver in trouble.

I just read the article and in the ad box on the right, right above the Cobalt pic what did I see?
An ad for the Scion xB.
I wouldn't be too happy buying that ad space if I were marketing my cars.
