To much Engine noise!!!???!!!

Default To much Engine noise!!!???!!!

i have a scion xB, and have modded it with intake,exhaust, and have always noticed that the engine makes too much noise... does anybody know or has anybody installed a engine noise dampener or suttin.... i have seen stuff kinda like dynomat that u install under attacked to the hood and it cuts down noise 50% and keeps the engine cooler and stuff like that.... does anybody have any info on this????? let me know please its killing me to let the car idol... i love my xB though i just would like to cut down the noise if poss..............

you can use dynamat extreme i think it can handle high heat

i was thinking suttin like that, but i heard of something that is expecially for that application, and cools the engine bay, and prevents against paint warp, but i doubt i would face that.......any body heard of that..??????

what type of engine noise are you takin about. do you mean exhaust noise that comes from the rear of the car or is it over all noise :?:

they do have stuff made exactly for that it's called trans tunner heatsheild. most any hi-perf shop has it or can get it. use dynamat as the first layer and then follow up with a foil type underhood sheild.

i know but i mean an underhood heatsheild foil over that. i would rather use stuff other than dynamat cuz it gets damn hot behind that header. just my .02

imo thats goint to be a pretty hard install behind the block. first you have to clean it, very difficult and then put the stuff in. thats not an easy spot to work in

naw im all good with the sterio.. i got 2 12"s glassed and a 900wt amp. but im talking on the hood on the underside, not on the damn firewall..... the noise is loud from the outside if ur near the engine bay....

mines sounds like an airplane with exhaust and intake but the sounds cover it up also
