Default Multiple electrical problems 07 tC

What isn't working:

Sunroof, power mirrors, passenger window (only from the driver's side - will roll down on the passenger side), have to override P to shift, speedometer, odometer, and no radio.

Two fuses tested not to be working, but the plugs are hot. Replaced those still show as bad. I found the old thread on the lG1 relay as a likely culprit, but before I just throw any more money at this thing, I guess I'm looking for opinions.

The two fuses are directly behind the relay.

All these symptoms happened at the same time the alternator went bad. Also had to replace the coolant sensor. I hope the car is just having an 80K time to spend some money moment.

how are you testing the two fuses to know that they are bad? They shouldn't test bad if they are good no matter what electrical problem you are having. If the fuse has 12v on one side and not on the other it has to be the fuse. BUT if you replace the fuse and it blows right away you have another issue.

I don't know about scions 100% yet but I am MECP certified and have been working on electrical side of cars for 10+ years. Where are the fuses located? and how are you testing them to know they are bad?

Sounds like you just need to reset your windows...check your owners manual.

Using a simple test light with the key on/off/acc. I will have to crawl back under there (oh joy) and see if I was having an old timer's moment, and take a look at the diagram to see again exactly which two it is. Fuses did not look blown.

Thanks Emperor - I don't have a manual didn't realize you had to reset the windows after removing the battery, found the instructions will try that, but that doesn't resolve the issue with the "left" side of the car lol.

I don't think its coincidental that all this happened when the alternator went bad.

I will recheck the 7.5 acc fuse. My daughter is in the car now and confirmed she also does not have cruise control or seat belt chime. My story sounds exactly like this guy's.

Try resetting the windows before you do anything else. Not being able to move the passenger window with the driver side is a result of the windows needing ot be reset..trust me I had to do it like 10 times lol

Try that first before doing anything else..it's simple and would be a good place to start trouble shooting if the problem still persists.

Oh I agree Emperor - The battery was replaced, so that alone would require the reset from what I read, but that doesn't explain no mirrors, speedo, odomoter, sunroof, radio, cruise, seatbelt chime, Shift locked, and whatever else that I forgot.

I truly do appreciate everyone's help here!

hey jlynn, just checking the schematics and here's what the in common culprits are that I found. Might want to check them out.

According to power source (Current flow) from the schematics,
=====================================

MET IG2 10A fuse controls the following:

ABS
Air Conditioning
Audio System
Back Door Opener
Charging system
Combination meter
Cruise Control
Electronically Controlled Transmission and A/T indicator
Engine Control
Illumination
Key Reminder (buzzer)
Light Reminder
Seat Belt Warning buzzer
Sliding roof (sun roof)
SRS (air bags)
Tire Pressure Monitoring System

=================================
The other is IG2 15A fuse controls the following:

Cruise Control
Electronically Control Transmission and A/T indicator
Engine Control
Engine Immobilizer
Ignition
SRS (air bags)
==================================

Also check the 10A ECU-B, it controls most of the above plus a few more:

ABS
Air Conditioning
Audio System
Back Door Opener
Combination Meter
Cruise Control
Door Lock Control
Electronically Controlled Transmission and A/T Indicator
Engine Control
Engine Immobilizer System
Illumination
Interior Light
Key Reminder
Light Reminder
Power Window (w/ Jam Protection)
Seat Belt Warning
Sliding Roof (sun roof)
SRS (air bags)
Tire Pressure Warning System
Wireless Door Lock Control
=========================================

7.5A ACC controls the following:
Audio System
Power Outlet
Remote Control Mirror
Shift Lock
=========================================

7.5A ECU-IG (read your post, yep it does control some of the same stuff I posted above!)

ABS
Air Conditioning
Back Door Opener
Charging
Cruise Control
Door Lock Control
Interior Light
Power Window (w/ Jam Protection)
Radiator Fan and Condenser Fan
Shift Lock
Sliding Roof
Tire Pressure Warning System
Wireless Door Lock Control
========================================

go ahead and check all those above, then another to check is the IG1 relay as well. The IG1 relay was updated with a new part to prevent freezing in under 14 degrees Fahrenheit. It also would lock up the Auto trans shifter and prevent it from shifting out of park. There was a TSB (tech service bulletin on it) I'll have to dig to find the number of it.

all fuses and the IG1 are located under the dash by the steering column (if you didn't know, just making it easy to find)

hope that helps you. Seems that these above mentioned should get ya pointed in the right direction. keep us posted.
