Default My 06' TC got hit&run

I know it was kind of my fault but my car was double parked in front of my apartment and within 20 minutes someone smashed into it. I suspect it was the guy parked in the parking space perpendicular to the front of the apartment and he backed into my car. The guy was gone for like a whole week after the incident. When he was finally back, I inspected it, took some pictures and saw that it kind of matched the dent marks on my car. What do you guys think?

You can fit about one and a quarter civic between his car and my double parked car...more than enough to get out. Besides...if he didnt like me double parked there, he could have called the tow truck or the popo...hit and runs not the way to go....

Highly doubt your going to get any help or sympathy on this thread. But yes it is possible with those pictures and your diagrams that he did hit you. Since you admitted fault, I don't think you're really going to get much out of this at all. ..
...you were double parked...

I did...gave him the option of settling it without insurance/police...he denied doing it. So I might have to go to police/insurance. But is this enough evidence to show that he did it?

i remember when i backed up on to my brothers car, luckily it was a pos car, left him some nice paint scuffs lol. That bumper on the scions can take a light hit without denting, all I had was some scrapes. Repairs cost about 250 though, not so bad. What part of the scion did you get hit? I couldnt reallly tell on the pictures.

Nah, I didn't... figured the cops wouldn't do anything anyways without proof or anything...

I don't think you'll get anything to be honest. He will just make a case that you should not have been in that spot to begin with. He SHOULD have just got you or a tow truck to remove your car that would have been the smart/legal thing to do not smash into it and run. I would ask a cop or a traffic lawyer.

While I have to say I have little remorse for double parkers (especially for 20 min... seriously, double parking is only possibly acceptable if it's for a minute or two) but in this case if you can prove he hit you, he is still at fault. I don't think it matters that you were double parked, you are not allowed to hit another car, and certainly not allowed to simply leave after.

See what the cops say, if you didn't report it then you may be in a bind, but maybe you can argue that since he was gone for a week after the accident you saw no point reporting it until his car came back and you realized it might be him.
