I woke this morning to tons of hail hitting my windows in my house and then my heart dropped and I screamed - OH MY GOD - MY CAR IS GETTING HAILED ON!! It was too late by the time I made it outside. There was a little damage - but it wasn't severe. However, now they are saying we are going to get another bout and this time the hail will be 1 inch in diameter. I don't have a garage, car port, etc, so I did the only thing I knew to do - I found thick blankets and bungie corded them to the hood, trunk, and an extra thick one for the glass top. I'm scared to death about it and praying this will work .

Wow, sorry to hear that! Where are you located? I moved from OK 1-1/2 years ago, so I totally understand the freak hail storms!!

 

Cincinnati, Ohio - 60 mile per hour winds, large hail, dangerous lightning. I hate the anticipation - it should hit me at 7:56 - it's 7:44 right now.

Do you really think that the blankets will do anything?

 

I feel your pain...almost happened to me last month, and my baby was a day old. Put towels all over mine...the weather guys said it was headed in my direction. Yikes all that glass.

Yeah if the blankets are think enough it will absorb the impact of the hail.

7:56 and it's not here yet - hating the anticipation. I don't even know if I have hail damage insurance. I dont care though - I'll sell my prized possessions to get my car fixed. Golf ball sized hail just reported....AGHHHHH

 

They should cover it... I have a garage now... but grew up in good old tornado alley.. so I totally understand your anticipation! Maybe it'll die out before it gets there

You have to have full coverage insurance if you have a loan, by law. So yes, your hail damage will be covered. However depending on you deductible, it might be wroth it to take it to a paintless dent repair. Im not sure how good they are but ive heard some people have had good luck with it.

I was back in Dayton, OH in late March (21- 1 Apr). It rained every damn day. That SUX, hail !!! Dude, find your car some shelter, even if u have to pay for it. Ask the dealer !! He should help you out, if he can !!! I mean check all your boys, SERIOUSLY !!!

 

A couple months back, it got cold enough to hail. They were pretty small, bb sized.

I was driving and freaked out, I pulled over instantly.

It's not supposed to hail in California.

 

1 inch in diameter is pretty dammn big! you have a drive way tho right? if so u can buy one of those shade tents that will cover your entire car.

 

I wish mine would get hail damage but everytime i back it out it never amounts to anything. I do PDR for a living so I could fix it myself and make a little extra cash. If any one arround here gets it give me a call and ill help you out.

 

One inch hail stones? that's huge... I hope your tC stays warm and protected in the blankets.
