No. It's where the car is registered.

no because your car only has to adhere to the regulations of the state it is registered in. i can drive through california with my modified exhaust, but so long as i have maryland registration on my car, they can't ticket it me for it because it is out of their juristiction to enforce regulations on out of state vehicles.

there can be some exception, like if your car violates a federal mandate, then they could ticket you for that anywhere.

also, driving into virginia, you have to turn off your radar detectors if you have one.

These laws have been fixed for awhile here in CA, nothing's really changed.

Also, you said you've had tint for 2 years....when did you start driving?

lol, 17 and already ranting about having a first ticket. just pay it off, or take off the tint and show them and youll get it waived or reduced to like 20 dollars or something. it was probably a fix it ticket anyways.

So, does this mean that even if my tint is illegal in my state, they can't ticket me in their state?

Just pay the ticket and move on or take it off so you never have to deal with it again. I have been pulled of tint, it is the risk you run by having it.

You got to remember, the windows are tinted from the factory so when you apply more time it will be darker than the layer you applied.

But it sounds like you knew this. So either take it off, don't take it off and pay the fine or get it fixed to legal requirements.

At least you can have tint, in PA you can only have the back windows tinted. Now in MD I can do 35% all around. (windshield is only top 5 inches).

welcome to the club dude, ohio's tint laws are terrible. i went two years also before getting ticketed / fined (at 15% tint). And its a criminal offense in ohio, each time you getted pulled the offense increases in severity. i changed mine and absolutely hate it now, so ugly.
