Just returned your PM. You need the surface mounts. SLT-773B (B for blue if that is the color you are looking for)

That is just something that popped in my head, but would probably look absolutly ridiculious.
Not a bad idea, but with the whole fuel gauge being fed with just two leds, it would be difficult. You'd have to make a divider to go between the two to cutoff the light so they don't mix.
Psh, i totally said that earlier in the thread .
Sorry, I missed that whole convo too. I really need to come to the site before 2am!

I am actually thinking of buy a wrecked tc's gauge cluster and doing sort of service and charge like 30-50 bucks for labor (LEDs will cost about 20), some sort of swap out service. Not really sure yet, a good way to raise money for a turbo... I wonder how many of you would be interested?

i would if you warrantied it...hehe....i like the way yours came out but i'm torn. my last car, an audi was red. i'm burned out on red. before that the vw was blue. burned out on blue. hate the orange, but no clue what to change it to. maybe green? green might look good. what would it take to have the dash cycle like the 6 disc changer? every 10 seconds a different color....hmmmm

that would be insanity!!!
but that gave me another idea (hopefully my own this time). I wonder if there is a way to connect the color changing led to the brightness adjustment so you could make it whatever color you are feeling at the time. That is probably a huge stretch, but whatever.

brilliant....can take it a step further and have the color change with the music from ones system. we're gonna have to share in the proceeds from these ideas. i'm gonna work on it. "dash rotation", "dash by design" or "dash beat"....night time colors based on mood...fixed color or rotation, based upon your mood or music....hmmmm

Could definitely be done. I had thought of some different color changing schemes. Basically just desigining a seperate control board for all of the lighting that I could simply program to do what I wanted... but that is a bit much to do just for lighting. It would be fun though.

rivulent, is the web sight that engifineer posted http://www.lc-led.com/Products/department/5 the same one you went to, I like the deep red that yours is, and some that I have seen kind of look pink, not sure if it's the camera or their eyes. I want to get the leds, but want to make sure that I'm getting the color that I will like.

Default Here's mine...

Hey, everyone. Don't mean to revive a thread that may be getting old, but someone requested pics of white guages, so here are my white guages, along with red center console:

Click on any image below to bring up a full-resolution view!

Only the dials were changed to white; the rest of the warning indicators etc. were left stock. They're whiter IRL than in these pics (sorta' blue).

The second leftside amber LED on temperature dial was swapped for a blue LED, so now the temp gauge's blue portion is longer. I originally wanted white (or secondary option blue) on the center console, but was warned about the issues that I now see other members had when they did blue.

The super white LEDs for status indicator are brighter than they look in the photo (probably because they're filtered so they're bright from the driver's angle, but the picture was shot straight-on); I can clearly see them in day time when the lights are turned off and they get even brighter (day mode brightness)!

You need about 40 to be safe.

15 for the gauges (does not change status lights i.e. CEL, Maint.), 20 for the console (doesn't include hazard, engine immob. or the **** (I liked the color change effect)). Include 5 more for the **** if you want it done as well. The cubby hole uses a different type

Safely give yourself all the time you need without getting tired. Breaking the LCD's will cost you BIG TIME. The required time will also depend on how good you are with soldering.

The center console will take more time if done in white or blue...engifineer has developed a true mod for that (he also does these for a fee and send it back to ya).

You can def knock it out in 3-4 hours tops if doing both at the same time because you are already set up.

I can do the console and gauges in about 3 hours total, but I have also spent way too much time with a soldering iron and have done a number of the tC gauges and console. So I would say with decent soldering experience and your first time with the tC I would give yourself approx. 5 hours or so to be safe. With little soldering experience it could take much longer. As sciondad mentioned, take your precious time on the console especially. You do not want to crack that LCD. Go here if you need some extra pointers on soldering:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...=61793&start=0

And practice on some junk electronics if possible. Spend a LOT of time using the solder wick on the Center Console LCD and move from end to end so you dont overheat one spot. If you do it right it will simply fall out in your hand, no firm tugging.

I am still doing them as sciondad mentioned. I am supposed to start doing them through one of the vendors of tC items as soon as they get it all set up on thier site. They have been pretty busy but are working on getting them listed. So once they announce it on here you will know who and also how to order them. That will be a much better system to have them done since the ordering will all be centralized.
