driving a 93 corolla, no traction control no abs, rear break is not function, still have not problem in heavy rain, you get to know how to drive. after all, you are the driver, not computer.

I think traction control would cost a bit too much considering the price point toyota was trying to achieve...
LOL they might is well leave the Airbags off the TC too..
You only use them once, and it would save money, what are the chances of you having to use them, only _____'s need them...LOL

Get real..Traction control is a plus...

IMO you really just have to get to know your car [it limits]. If you feel you need more control you could spend some money on suspension, rims, and or tires. just upgrading the tires could make a huge difference. Don't drive like a maniac on slippery roads and you'll be just fine. The TC is a great car at an awsome price. A far better value than the 00 Si I had. Hopes this help and good luck. Oh. and by the way, there is nothing wrong w/ driving the sunfire. It's a fine car. A tricked out one smoked me once in the Si.

the only time traction control is a plus is .......... never. really, when does it kick in? when you are stopped and hit the gas hard and the wheels break loose. so, if it is slippery out, don't hit the gas so hard. be aware of the conditions you are driving in. no front wheel drive car needs traction control.

I just bought my TC a week ago. It has been pouring rain here everyday for the past week. I am in the process of moving, so I have been making plenty of trips on the WET high speed curvy highways around here.

I must say that I am very impressed with the traction.

I did not expect much (during bad weather conditions) from the tires that come stock, but combined with what seems to be a well-built suspension, I really feel safe in this car.

Hope this feedback helps.

just kidding, but really, traction control doesnt keep you on the road While youre moving, it only helps when youre accelerating... I think youre thinking about stability control

Also something to add. Some of the members I have read say the stock tC tires are not the best around for anything other then dry weather days. So if you dont feel that safe with the stock tires go for some upgrades that are great in the rain/snow.

anyone that counts on traction control or abs can't be that good of a driver. . . . . . and aren't you the dude that was criticizing people for lowering their ride . . ? . .so figure . . . .i bet you drive auto too. . . .

. . good drivers know how to handle vehicles without these options

. . .so you better rethink your experience status .. . .

. . if your back end swings out and you don't know why, i suggest you go back to school, partner .....

peace,

well, i'm thinking the sunfire is kinda light. so, when you're driving slower and people are flying past you in the rain.....the vacuum, and the water they move at you might have caused the hydroplane. good thing the tC is a heavy beast

The stock tires on the tC are bad for wet and snowy weather. Bridgestone RE092 Potenzas are barely all-season tires despite what's written on the sidewalls and brochures. If you live in wet weather areas and don't have alot of driving experience in the rain, get different tires.

Get new tires. First thing I do after starting my G35 Coupe is turn off the traction control. It is a pain. You don't need it. A limited slip differential for the tC would be nice though.

i've only seen traction control necessary on RWD cars... other than that it seems that putting traction control on a FWD is not very cost effective... i think the only time FWD cars REALLY lose control is if you're goign too fast, or if your tires are worn to ____, in which in both cases traction control wouldn't help you anyway.

Ok, for the Sunfire. It is JUNK. My wife had a 2001 too. I told her to get rid of the thing, so we bought a Prius. I also have a tC. Here's the thing. YOU hydroplaned! All you needed to do is get your foot off the gas and DO NOT apply the break. If you have a stick, down shift. There is no need for trac on a tC, you the driver can do the same. As for the breaks on the Sunfire. They are the same car as the Cavalier, which I owned one for 4 years. If you do not change the break fluid out it will RUIN the ABS. You will have to get a whole new ABS system installed to fix it, which is bookoo bucks. That is why when you fit bumps your ABS engages. I had the same problem. I sugest unlike what cybergypsy says because she doesn't even have a tC! Anyways, the tC is a great buy, it will hold it's value very strong. Your sunfire's value drops at the same rate that a rock falling off a cliff does! Expect to see about $4500 trade in for your sunfire...Thanks all

Amen.

The ABS system is VERY expensive to replace (I did that once on the Cavalier ). lol, I hated my old car so much I almost started rallies called "JBody = Junk Body"
