WOW I'm glad to hear that you and yours are OK. Here where I live running red lights is very common I'm sure it's like that everywhere now People need to stop acting like they are the only ones that matter. Take care and Everyone Please be careful out there.

tC's are built to protect you. You'll be amazed at how smashed up some tC's look, but the fatalities from all the accidents that happen are minimalized due to how extremely well built the tC's are.

sorry about your car too, but most importantly, glad you're all okay...hope you get your new one soon...(now I feel the time I waited for my Tc with side-airbags to arrive was worth it...)

That damage, at first, does not look like close to what I'd expect for both cars going 50... but then you can see that the impact is spread out over a very large area on the right side - that is quality engineering at work!

Makes me wish I'd held out for side airbags.

Yea like this guy said, cars are replacable, people aren't. Glad to hear your ok. People run red lights thinking they will not cause any problems, but they need to think again. Glad you and your passengers are ok.

I had something similar happen to me. I've had my xB for about a month and a half now. The last car I got was a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer ES. (this was back in '03).
I was on my way home at 1:00am, when I was rear ended by a lady who fell asleep at the wheel of her brand new FORD F-150!!! (damn fords ). This pushed my car up onto this rocky median and made it flip over twice, landing up side down. Airbags didn't deploy, but I did have my seatbelt on. Thus I was able to walk away with a small cut, seatbelt bruise, and whiplash.
God bless foreign-made cars.

man, that's nuts!! Glad ur all ok and good choice with the side airbags. I had them as an option just for the insurance, but I was planning on installind racing seats anyways. I guess is just not worth my life, we'll see, I'm always changing my mind anyways. :-)

The airbags are in the A-Pillar, so racing seats wouldn't make a difference.

Glad to see you're ok! A lot of people around here run reds as well, but we have ridiculously long delays between one side turning red and other side turning green. Even then, people still will run a red - and I'm not talking about trying to beat a yellow. I'm talking about running a red light that has been RED for at least 10 seconds.

I've seen several near accidents like that happen. Sometimes I wonder if the person even realized what the hell they just did...

I'm also glad to see our tC's are constructed well. Side impact beams for the win
