My TC Nightmare...
Hey guys, I bought an 08 Tc brand new. Its the 5 speed manual. I had it for 10k miles, brought it in because third gear would grind when the car was a little cold. The put a new trans in it, then again the same problem, and a new trans at about 30 or 40k. Now i'm up to 71k and I have the same problem, but worse, and engine "ticking" in my top end. Dealer ship says they'll tear down the motor, then send an adjuster out to look at it, if they decide to cover it then it'll be no cost, but if they decide not to, I have to pay them 1725.00 for tearing the motor apart, then get the car towed home and put it back together my self and fix it. By the way, I bought the Platinum 100k mile warranty. Any help or suggestions?! I was thinking about rebuilding the whole top end with Brian Crower parts, but maybe it's just a lifter or something that seized up and is frozen?!

Third time that transmission replaced for same problem.......either the shop does not know how to make the repair correctly or you miss a lot of shifts into 3rd.There are only 2 comman denominators here the shop and the driver, cause the odds of same issue 3 times in arow for smae person and it is a fluke is up with winning lottery the first time you buy a ticket.

I never miss any shifts for third, lol. I dont miss shifts at all. I've driven stick prior to getting this car so I know how to drive, lol. If they haveto put three transmissions in it that = lemon law? And then what do I do?

"The New Jersey Lemon Law applies to new cars, both purchased and leased, which suffer a nonconformity; a defect or condition, which substantially impairs the use, value or safety; that cannot be repaired after three attempts by an authorized manufacturer's dealership. This nonconformity must first occur within the first 24 months or 18,000 miles, whichever comes first. The New Jersey Lemon Law also applies to vehicles that are in the shop for repair twenty (20) or more calendar days during the first 24 months or 18,000 miles (whichever comes first)."
You need to contact a Lemon Law attorney. They will be able to give you all the info you need and whether you can proceed with a case or not. Here's a link to NJ Lemon Law attorneys:
