Hey fellas, I was coming home last night from my girls house like 1.00Am all the sudden i see someone behind me with the shade of the lights of a cop car on top of the car and i was like ____ thats the cops and as soon as i slowed down i seen the lights go on so i pull over he said " i pulled you over for doing 60 ina 45" i wasnt really pay attention cause its pa and all long road so you feel like your not going anywhere unless its like 60 65 , but he said " these windows tinted? " i was like yea the front winshied is 15% like 6 inches down! so i knew i was in trouble..He said well thats definatley illegal" and the back is 15% aswell, but my driver and passenger are 30% , so he gave me the ticket and said " i wont give you a citation for the tint but im giving you a ticket for speeding ill let you slide on the tint" i was like damn in my head casue of the ticket , and insurance was all over my mind..Then he said this an 07? im like no its an 08 , he said " oh nice car i like it better then the other ones" Lmao im like thanks but " i prolly wont be able to drive it after this ticket " , He said nah dont worry about it, If you plead Not Gulity show up to the court to house take the front and back tint off and ill reduce the ticket , no points on your lisence no moving violation, but dont show up in a illegal Car i have no problem reduceing the ticket but i have a problem with the tint " So i was like okay cool np officer have a nice day...but now i dunno if i should take the driver and passenger door tint off cause its 30% i know the back and front windshield is 15% and its gotta go but the 30% im not sure about ??? he said "Front and back tint" im not fimillair with the tint law in pa i think it 25% or 30% so #1 should i show up with the passenger and driver tinted cause its 30%? or should i just take it all off? i really dont want to , and #2 should i get the car re-Tinted after i goto court 30% all around? thanks guys

Hmmm... Well, I used to have 18% all around including the windshield, so pretty much the same as you. I was getting pulled over a lot. Mostly warnings, but when I got a fix-it ticket, I decided to get the car retinted afterwards. My tint guy removed the front sides and windshield for $5, and then after my brief trip to the courthouse, I came back and got 50% on the front sides and windshield. Now I haven't had any more attention from the po-po since then. I would say definitely get it retinted, but not something stupidly dark like you have now (I will admit that my 18% on the fronts was stupid).

Yeah i hear ya, but at first he asked me to roll up my window and checked the visibility, he didnt say much about it. but when it came to the back and front tint he said it was to dark, im just not sure if i should take off the driver and passenger door cause thier light allready but i dont wanna show up to court and hes like you still have your tint on the front and im like ummmm lol so i duuno im cunfused

 

take it all off get it retinted when you get out of court

yeah im thinking of it but it will cost me alot if i have to get the doors redone again its just makeing me madd when he said " Front and back take off" i dont think he meant the doors? this blowsi wish i had a radar detector

 

^^^thats what i thought here in ga untill i got stopped yesterday........turns out it's 32% all around and not even allowed a windsheild strip at all.

 

im in PA also, i got a ticket for 20% while in Blue bell, that where i went to school, that day was dark in the morning otherwise it could slip through. the cop said you dont have to pay the ticket if you show up in court with the front car untinted. well i just paid the ticket 107.50. In philadephia area, they wont care if you have neons nights on or ATV on street. i was in suburban.

 

if 25% is the legal amount, i would prolly just take the tint off and retint it all to a legal amount....then at the courthouse just tell cop how you went ahead and redone it all legally.....IMO its just al simpler..the car is still more comfortable and from the outside it give the windows a nice color.....dont get me wrong, i love the way dark tint looks..but here in NC, annual inspection includes checking the tint level so its a pain to dodge inspection stations every year...

well ima call the local judge or police station and ask the tint law, i wish i can talk to the cop and ask him if he wanted me to also take the door tint off aswell, but im prolly gonna take it all off casue, hes gonna reduce my speeding ticket to nothing just to another fine and no points or violation so i might do that but the tint isint cheap to put back on

Do they have to tools out there to even measure if its illegal? If not i wouldn't worry about it and say you got it re-done, otherwise take it off...Good luck, let us know how it goes!

 

ya, it sucks. even the radar detector on, you would still have to roll down the front windows to avoid attraction from the 50

 

yes, the cops have them i seen it at least two times.

 

the guy wasn't giving you no break. if he wanted to give you a break, he would have given you the ticket for tint (no points) rather than speeding (points). or he could have just let you go all together...

 

I have my inspection license in PA and you can't have any tint on the door windows.
Your better off just taking it off. Not much sense in going to court with the car still questionable.

 

I love California! Even if this state IS going to hell, I'm allowed 70% on the front sides, and ANY% on the rear and back sides! And a 4" visor.
