Your better off just taking it off. Not much sense in going to court with the car still questionable.

x2 i think the legal limit is 70% wich is factory or no tint.

What is there to love? I think you are a little bit confused. Our state is one of the stricter states when it comes to window tint. Sure you can do whatever you want with the back windows, but we are basically not allowed to have any front tints at all.

Risky. You could probably get away with it, but the repercussions of getting caught could be huge. They could check the VIN number if they were being really **** about it, and a mismatched VIN would get you a felony or misdemeanor charge for obstruction of justice.

Well, he can get the VIN from having the plate number. They don't normally waste time comparing VINs, but if you give him any other reason to suspect that you switched the cars then the VINs can be used as proof.

Damn this sucks i dont wanna take off my tint, but i rather have no points on my license then my tint, but im guessing how can they reduce the charge from speeding? with no points? and him saying no points that means no speeding ticket to my insurance company right?

I cant believe they are so strict on tint. I was at home depot in my tc yesterday and a guy pulled up in a tc right next to me. He gets out and its a cop that just got off duty. He starts talking to me about my car and was like "what % tint is that?" I have 20% all around but I told him it was 35% (state limit) and he was like "yeah, whatever. the cars looking good man" and he went inside. Here in Fayetteville the cops are out in force and I havent had any problems yet.

PA does not have a specific tint percentage limit. I see people say 70% quite a bit, but there is no mention of a specific percentage in the law.

The law states: "No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any sun screening device or other material which does not permit a person to see or view the inside of the vehicle through the windshield, side wing or side window of the vehicle."

I got pulled over last year for my tints. I plead not guilty, went to the District Justice, showed him my car and the law and I got off without the fine because he could see the interior of my car.

Yeah, well i gotta update i found out what Station he was at , called him yesterday and he said i gotta take off my front windshield , passenger and driver door thats it, and i asked him twice "I dont have to touch the back right?" he said no " and then said plead not guilty and ill reduce your speeding ticket to 5 over with no pionts" so im not gonna argue with that..but he did say ,now this is a state trooper , said 70% is the state law, and wats a side wing? i hope thats not the 2 little windows in the back of the car ya know? and what the hell is sun screening?

well not sure about you guys but here is a website i came across about tint laws. Some of it is garble to me but the important stuff seems to pop.

http://www.iwfa.com/iwfa/Consumer_In...statelaws.html

Where is Effort dude? I'm outside of Philly and I have 5% in the back, 20% in the front, and a 5% windshield visor. I haven't had any problems yet, and police around here have nothing to do except bust *****. Sun screening is just another word for tint, and the side wing probably does refer to the rear side windows. There is a law about that, but I can't recall.

PA has a no-tint law... Meaning NO TINT. 70% is the legal amount, and all cars roll off the facotry with that amount.

Just take it off and get it redone, but don't go like 15 like you had it.

I had 35% tint on my old tC when I lived in PA and didn't get bothered during the 9 months I had the car.

Then again, I drove my new tC around PA for 2 months with 5% all around + windshield strip and didn't get bothered.

I don't know. I guess it's a risk.

I gotta go with my Car, the Whole Point of him taking my speeding down to nothing is to take my passenger and driver tint off as well as the front strip, so he wants to see it.
