Default Need some help for TC purchase. First time buyer here

OK im donating my old car and that will be picked up on Friday.. My TC should arrive at dealer between 12/2-12/5... How does everything work out. Do I just go purchase the car and then right after the dealer I go to Motor Vehicles to register it? Do i put my old car plates on the new car? Excuse me if I'm dumb at this sorry. thanks for any help.

lol...sorry for laughing...

that was me too...two months ago.

the dealer will register the car for you and provide you with temp plates until the real ones come in to them. you won't have to do anything.

all you need to worry bout is putting your tc under your insurance. :-)

just make sure and ask your finance person any questions you might have. here in Oklahoma the dealership mails you the info to register your car for you, and you take care of your own sales tax. the other NJ person said they do it for you though, but it never hurts to ask if you're unsure.

yeah, i can't stress this enough so i'm gonna type in all caps: ASK QUESTIONS!!!! I had the good fortune of having and excellent salesman. He was well informed, and never misleading, but it's not always the case. It was my second time buying a car (the first time my dad did it all) and all you can do is ask questions. There's no question you can ask that they haven't heard before. and if they seem reluctant to answer something that you would deem "important" or seem to be avoiding the question... find another dealer. I know that's not what you wanna hear (especially with the loooong wait for the tC) but it'll pay off in the long run... better safe than sorry. good luck!
