Some of my best shots are in that thread. It's only 2 pages, so it's a quick read/view.

I've been shooting since about March. haha Most of my shooting is done with the 18-55mm lens that came with the XTi, but I recently got a telephoto 55-250mm lens. Thanks for the compliment.

Used the Nikon software to edit this picture. It was an over exposed shot, so I sharpened it a little, dropped the brightness, adjusted the lighting, and gave it a little more color.

Sounds like a good plan. My friend has the D40 and is really happy with it.

ritz/kitz camera has a deal that you get the d40 kit with the 18-55mm lense and a 55-200mm lense for 750 OR the body and 18-55 for 499. Im thinking about getting the kit so i can also get a UV filter then DEMAND another lense and memory cards for christmas and my birthday. Is the 55-200 a good lense to use in addition to the 18-55?

if you ever plan on upgrading past consumer dslr's don't buy the EF-S lenses since they wont work...

also...every Canon owner should buy the 50mm 1.8 II...75 bucks and sharp as hell...and super light weight...

hmmm. I was writing a long post about the D40 and people wanting to get into photography an all but.. I just don't give a damn.. So i'm gonna post some pics of the scion.

two strobes, one in front of the car and one to the side. Both like 20 years old and don't have any controls except a test button. haha. Fired manually with the camera on a tripod.

Ohhhhh the distortions so baaaddd..

Some more!

I just want to point out that you don't need a fancy SLR to take fancy pictures. The cameras only a tool.

i dont think ill ever go past a xxD (20d, 30d, 40d) series camera mainly since this is more of a hobby than a profession for me. and those are still ef-s compatible.

some EF-S lenses should be decent ones.. 10-22mm and 17-55mm are good lenses, except that they arent L lens that have a tough build
