- Lightweight My dream would be something a lil closer to the Lotus Elise.
- Bring back the VVTL-i! I know a lot of tC owners want LIFT.
- Something that is definitely fun to drive!
- A mainstream design, Toyota/Scion dont want to make the same mistake like with the Toyota Celica in design (awesome car but bad design concept for it, too "Futuristic" as some said).

No, I was just conveying my rage through some other random guy. If anyone looks like that at 21, there is something seriously wrong.

A free hooked on phonics DVD in the head unit for those of us who don't know how to read.

How about this? A PAID advanced driving school so we can stop seeing so many 16 year old numb skulls wrecking their (mommy and daddy's) car.

Telescope wheel would a huge plus, as others have mentioned.

The stupid silver dash/gauges are impossible. Apparently, nobody tested it in the sun. There is way too much glare in the sun with no tint on the windows. If tinted, it is impossible to see the numbers without the headlights on.

A thicker steering wheel, PLEASE. I don't wanna rice my damn car by getting aftermarket wheel and loosing my air bag (I value my life, thank you very much)!

But that damned wheel is just WAY too thin for a car designed in the 21st century. I feel like i'm driving a rav4.... Oh wait, it's the same wheel.... No wonder. Isn't there anything thicker in the parts bin?

The coat hooks are completely useless for anything with a hanger. I can't put up my dry cleaning, a suit, or any nice jackets, and they end up either wrinkled on the ground or thrown in a trunk full of lint.

1) Do not make Traction Control or Stability Control standard (always an option if it has to be there), and if equipped, provide with a COMPLETE disable feature (not a partial disable).

2) Make drive-by-wire throttle optional. Probably not logistically feasible... so... get rid of it altogether and go with cable throttle? If none of the above is feasible, then at least fix the drive-by-wire system so it actually responds like a cable would (without randomly adjusting throttle body position based on calculations, instead base it directly off of throttle position, i.e. go without algorithms. I don't like the car suddenly cutting off throttle when I just slightly let off the pedal in rush hour while in 2nd gear).

3) 6 speed transmission either standard or optional.

4) keep the pedal locations as is, but make the throttle slightly stiffer. it gets tiring to manage speed with such a soft pedal.

5) make default programming such that "MAINT REQD" signal does not come on automatically. Also list in owner's manual how to turn this feature off altogether, and also show how to adjust intervals. EDIT #1: getting maintanence at places that don't know how to reset this feature (especially if you get it done at 3000 mile intervals instead of 5000) makes this a problem.

Edits #2:
6) make blue/orange backlight color optional on gauges and center console controls too, not just the radio. People end up opening the dash, and soldering out the orange for blue anyways.

7) rear window wiper as an option, maybe not standard (I want to keep the car as the affordable deal that it is). but the aero of the car definitely leads to dirt buildup on rear window.

Agreed on the gas pedal being too soft!

I probably should have stated this in the begining but it's a little late anyway. I was going to print this thread and give it to the Chief Engineer but I think I'm just going to summarize the most pertinent comments.
-Thicker steering wheel
-More supportive seats with lumbar adjustment
-Gas pedal about two inches to the left (I won't suggest moving the brake pedal as I'm a left foot braker in certain turns where heel-toe is not necessary)
-Less play in the clutch and gas pedals
-Telescoping steering wheel
-Ditch the annoying chrome circle for something smoother
-Shorter shifter with a more firm throw feel

Can I get some more input on the seating position? Also post how tall you are when you make your comment. Thanks again guys, SOME of this is really helpful!

Also, even due to the overwhelming ammount of responses, I won't suggest anything out of the ergonomic related comments. I'm just an evaluator of one specific aspect, not the whole package. Believe me if I was the project coordinator I would just copy Chris Rado's time attack tC and sell it. It just doesn't work like that when one vehicle has to please hundreds of thousands of people. I'll put you guys to a challenge. If you can all unanimously aggree on five ergonomic related changes; I'll suggest anything in the time I have with the engineers!

Don't forget about the heated/folding side mirrors!

Btw, I'm 6'4 and pretty comfortable. I've got the seat all the way back and would like a little more leg room (even tho right now when my leg is fully extended, it reaches the max distance for clutch travel). The thing I would want to be able to do is recline the seat back some more, since it would give a little more headroom (my hair touches sometimes, if it wasn't for the extra room from the sunroof I wouldn't fit). Only problem, is if I recline back some, I can't reach the radio unless I lean forward, and I can barely reach the steering wheel since it doesn't telescope.

A suggestion sir, edit your poll, and create a list of 10-20 things, and have us vote for the top 5. Getting congruent posts is hard enough as is. A poll is a nice shiny picture at the top, so hopefully most people wouldn't miss it.

I have heard that before, and have yet to understand it. I have even tried, in all angles of sunlight, moving my head around in different angles, lights on and off... and have yet to even see a hint of issue seeing the guages, ever. I am not saying that some dont see the issue, as I have heard a reviewer of the car say so as well, but I know for me it has been impossible to find an issue with that.

And he has stated that he cant do anything for the performance, so I am pretty sure we can stop with the vvti-l, v6 comments

And cars are getting heavier (all of them) due to all of the added safetly and ammenity crap they keep getting. A lotus is light, because it is a true sports car, stripped down and purpose built.

With the stock amber lighting, I had some trouble reading it when I was living in AZ. I just turned the dimmer down to fix it...then I said f it and did the LED swap which made it worse (did all white). Then I did a 2-tone (blue/white) and it's legible no matter what.

Blue with red backlit needles stands out like dayglo But even with the lights off I have no issues seeing them in the daylight.
