I don't see why putting a thinner/smaller sized one will hurt any....

sorry to say THATS RETARDED... if our air system is designed so that we dont need filters in our car?... then why did they make the tray for the air filter???

Well those slots were to make it easier for accessory switches to be installed. Such as, if I wanted to be able to turn my sub on and off, I could do so via a switch I put there.

Not to mention that's where they put the switch for the factory fog lights.

Why did they make a tray? Could be because our cars were made form a giant parts bin! Ever think of that?

I'm not saying he's right about the pressurization thing, I'm just saying - the average person doesn't remove their glovebox and crawl down onn the floor of the car to see where a filter would go anyway. That whole blower system probably came out of a Camry. A lot of car companies do that to save money... just about everything on the tC's came from a parts bin. Check our door handles vs a new Camry's. Same ____. And I bet the mechanisms inside the door are exactly the same too.

Not that that's a bad thing cuz Camrys are good cars, but still.
