Default Noise exiting my car

For the last few days, a new noise has developed from my TC. After driving for about one half hour, after I shut the engine, open the door, and about to get out, I started hearing a rather loud creaking noise coming from underneath the left side of the car. It lasts about 3-5 seconds. It doesn't happen on a short trip. Only after I have been driving a while. Just as I get out of the car the noise occurs. (I only weigh about 150 pounds and the noise is not coming from my old bones- my knee caps do crack a bit). Any ideas???

Sounds like the brakes are settling after you get out. Im assuming this is after youve set the parking brake?

Try shutting the car off and setting the parking brake. After the car sits, try moving around in your car to see if it makes the sound. I live on a steep hill and my car always does that. Its just the parking brake shoes seating as the car settles when you shut the door.

Its either that, or something else is wrong and your car will likely explode.

i been having the exact same problem...and i own a 5-speed...i don't know if it's the emergency brake...took it to the dealer they change my rear right spring...(i asked for a left one, i don't know they give me a right one) but nothing change...i am just kinda got used to the "noise" problems i have with my car since there're so many of them.
