go to a state ref to have it certified that ur system is legal...pending that it actually is. as long as you're lower than 95 decibels, or within 1.5 decibels of 95, you will be legal and have a nice form to keep with u when u get harrassed by the law. Now if you have an intake or header...the ref won't pass you

How do we know it's exhaust? He's got a pair of 12s and a NiNe.1... just as likely (if not moreso) that he was boomin'.

What's a noise ticket up to nowadays? I haven't gotten one in almost 10 years.

it's a fix-it ticket so take it off and put the stock one, the go get it checked out and once you pass and pay the small amount, go back home and put the one that you got pulled over for and keep a good eagle eye out for the cops.

Holy crap, my last one was $65. But yours confuses me-- I was under the impression the car had to be in use, i.e. you need to be driving it at the time. If you're in a parking lot, you can go ahead and get loud-- it's up to the associated business to run you off for being a nuisance.

Sound Amplification Devices

27007. No driver of a vehicle shall operate, or permit the operation of, any sound amplification system which can be heard outside the vehicle from 50 or more feet when the vehicle is being operated upon a highway...

Parking lots are also private property, so the rules of the road generally do not apply. I've never heard of anyone getting a noise violation ticket while parked.

There's a simple solution...turn down your radio! I was into that when I was 19, and had my share of noise violations, but as you get older, your need for a stereo that makes your arm hair stand up goes away. Good luck fighting it though.

If you already got one before, why didn't you learn your lesson and turn it down? Simi Valley PD knows where you have your meets now, so they will be keeping an eye on that parking lot for easy tickets. If they have a policy of giving tickets to parked cars, then it's obviously just going to happen again and again and again. Turn the music down.

in illinois most of the time its $75 but you get places that will impound your car until you pay a $150 fine and then you have the fun towing expense and impound fee's and what not.
