Hey guys,

New here, just picked up an '08 Flint Mica Scion tC. Well technically I pick it up at 5:45PM this evening. I thought I would join this forum, learn what I can about this little beast, no huge plans right away ... but hopefully boosting by next spring.

I didn't get much from the factory, just the mats and navigation system. Springs will be the first thing I get for it.

Anyway, thought I would intro myself. I am an avid autocross enthusiast, used to drive a 6th gen Si, and an 85 200SX 1.8T.

New to here, not new to cars so I am hoping to bring some knowledge to the table. This looks like great place for information, a lot of great cars.

Cheers,

Chris

Congrads dude!..

So U are gonna upgrade suspension???..

I go w/ the Progress Rear Sway Bar & Ingalls 4-Point Rear Strut Brace

Then lowering Springs or Coil-overs...

Of course ditch the Stock tires FAST!...they really Suck in gripping...

Nice purchase!

coilovers, brakes, and TIRES will always help when autocrossing

Thanks everyone.

I think I am going to end up going with a new spring/shock combination rather than coils. Braces front and back.

For now the wheels and tires will stay the same. Next summer I would like to get 18" for DD, and something smaller and stickier R-Compound for track.

I checked with Ksport and H&R and they have yet to test their springs and sways on the 08. Does anyone know what will fit the 08?

That was actually one of my questions. I see that there are springs, turbo kits etc. for certain years ... I wasn't aware that there was a whole lot of difference between the years released currently.

Is the MAF on the '08 different?

I agree that the 07 and 08 should be the same, but you never know. There could be a small change that we dont know. Has anyone installed spring/sway/coilover on their 08?

Seriously!...Change the stock tires to a 225 size...BIG Freakin difference!..I ran 225/45/17 on the stock wheels...I loved it..Better Grip, handling..No Squealing around corners like the DUMB stock tires...

The 2 MOST noticeable suspension things was the Rear Sway!...and then the 4-point Ingalls Rear Brace...

Becuz the Stock Tires "suck" as in the squeal around taking a corner or even off from a stop sign...And they dont grip very well!...Changing the tires u will feel more confident in the handling..
