Default November Special

FYI

http://www.toyotaparts4u.com is having a special on the auto dimming mirror. $175.00

Shipping is usually less than McGeorge, I actually saved over 50.00 bucks! $183.00 was my total.. shipped.

Um... 183 odd bucks for a mirror is still expensive, but I want it OEM and rather than spending 235-240 figure get it now and regret it later (not the product... but the price). *lol*

I don't like toyotaparts4u.com anymore simply because of their excuse they gave me for not being able to accept the $50 accessory gift card that Scion sends out. McGeorge and Partznet.com both accept it. Toyotaparts4u told me they can't accept it because they only sell genuine Toyota parts and TRD parts and alluded that they do not sell Scion parts. Mmmm, dumb dumb dumb.

Anyone know why you cannot have the auto-dimming mirror if you have the side curtain airbags?

Default I am not BIAS

It depends... I go where they have the best deal. I order mudguards from ToyotaParts4 and everything went great.

Plus I keep reading about this gift card thing... why didn't I ever get a gift card?

I haven't bought anything from Partznet yet... I'll check them out.

You have to have a loan through Toyota Financial in order to get gift card.

Logically thinking, the wires would go down the same pillar the air bags are installed at, either making it riskier to install.

I did go through TFS using thier zone 1 rate (Toyota Finacial Service?) I was a recent graduate so they gave me the 400.00 rebate so does this mean I don't get the gift card anymore?

I also got the gift card, and I had the same graduate rebate that you had. It takes a while (a couple of months) to get it though, so hang on there.

And I may be completely wrong, but I think you have to complete the survey they send you to get the giftcard.

Had same bad experience with them . Was told they were not a Scion dealer so they could not take the gift card . Not real sure they are selling parts with a warranty, part number was diff from the factory number it also appears they are tring to hide behind a diff name it is hard to find out who they really are toyotaparts4u = :?:
I bought from McGeorge they took the gift card no problems price was the same and I know who they are they don't hide behind a diff. name

Default From the invoice

From the invoice that I got with the mud guards they are Toyota of North Carolina. The invoice looks like any dealear ship invoice with thier logo on top... what you order, price, etc.

Hopefully they are not as bad as people say they are... If I ever get the gift card... can I spend it on anything? I want to buy $50 bucks worth of oil filters for my tC.

Pertty sure it can be spent on any Toyota/Scion part sold at the dealer. You just can't spend it at Toyotaparts4u. :D

Um, vearing Back on topic... have you installed your mirror yet? if not, can you do a step by step with photo's. I know its a little annoying to take pics, but it would really help a fellow tC owner (me!) :D

This site might help you. It has the instruction manual for the auto-dimming mirror. I've read through it several times, looks easy enough to install. Mine will arrive on Friday (the 12th) and I will be installing it that afternoon, will let you know otherwise.

Yes, I also saw the site... good info. I got the kit last night... damn it was raining but still did it. *hehe* You know how it is when you get a new toy.

It comes with 2 harness... a long one and a short one. The one used in the tutorial PDF was the long one. Did the short one, easier... Use the PDF as a guide.
