OEM Sub + TRD exhaust = bad?
When you are driving with the above combo, does the exhaust get annoying? Assuming you are listening to the stereo at moderate volume levels, of course. Can you hear the exhaust easily?
Kind of a strange question... but no, I dont think it is annoying at all. With the stereo up high, it isnt really noticeable. But if you are worried about the sound, then stay stock. Most of the point of getting the exhaust is sound (only produces a few bhp). It sounds better than most aftermarkets I have heard so far. Not raspy, it has a deep, good sound.
I have 3900 miles on my car, and I can say for some reason over the last 1000 miles my exhaust has gotten louder and deeper. When I first got the car within the first 100 miles all my buddies were putting me down for getting a "ricey, raspy, pingy" exhaust, and I've been getting nothing but compliments from it recently, I don't know if I just was never paying attention to it, but I can tell you now it is much deeper, not raspy and not pingy at all. I don't have a sub in my car but I keep my settings on xB (more bass) and the volume at 40-50+ most of the time and I can't hear it when the radio is up that loud unless I floor it. If my radio is off I can definately hear it, and it sounds really good inside, even better outside actually. I let one of my friends drive my TC and it rumbled when he drive away.... sounded sooo good.
BUT If you're going to get ANY work done on the exhaust system like a header, high-flow S-pipe, high flow cats or bigger piping the TRD exhaust WILL sound raspy and LOUD. I plan on selling my TRD exhaust when I get a full race header, catback exhaust and high flow S-pipe and go with something that can handle the higher flow from a custom shop, probably a good generic magnaflow muffler.
