Default Oil Use

I know this has been heavily discussed and I have done some research, but I would like to have some more opinions.

I have a 07 tC with 98,000 miles and have had it for 5 months. I changed the oil as soon as I bought it to Valvoline 5w-20 full synthetic. Since that oil change, I've had to add a little over 0.5 qts per 900 miles (mostly city driving) or so with an exception of a recent 1,100 mile trip I just got back from where I had to add about 1.4 qts (going about 80mph, 4 people and luggage, with the AC on). Is this pretty normal or worse than most? I know the manual says 1.1 qts per 600 miles but that number is ridiculous. I also think my consumption is ridiculous since I've had cars in the past that barely consume any oil between changes. Would switching brands or going to 5w-30 help?

i dont think our cars need fully synthetic oil unless you are boosting, its not a race car lol... try 5w-30 half blend (half synthetic half conventional)... i bought my car with 1 mile on it and have used synblend every oil change and it consumes no oil at all im up to 43k -2010 tc- if you were wondering

This is an issue without a lot of 07 2az motors. It'll drink some oil but reliability is not affected.

And I would keep using the full synthetic oil.

Should I switch to 5w-30 to see if it helps?

Full synthetic, 5w-20 (like stated in the owners manual) every 5000.
