omg, HELP HELP HELP!!!!
Real quick...
last week or 2 my car has been sitting in a shop waiting for my headlights to come back in, i had them sent out for a Retro...
Today i drove it home, covered it, and left it..
First the key wont open it...
Then i open the door and no lights come on?
Then it wont start?
no noise nothing?
What is wrong with it?

Your probably going to need to leave it on longer then 5 minutes. If you can drive it around but i since you have no headlights that would be wierd HA! i would try charging it first with a battery charger before going out and purchasing a new one.
I dont think sitting there with it on for 5 minutes is enough to re-charge the dead battery.

Try the following... and pay close attention to the jumping off part... dont simply connect his, start it and start yours. That can in some cases lead to a bad thing for one of the cars involved.
1) tighten all battery cables
2) hook his up and start it
3) wait a good 15 minutes
4) unhook his and start yours
5) let it run for 15 - 20 minutes
If it still will not hold a charge it can either be a battery issue or a charging system issue. If you have access to a meter, check the battery voltage while the engine is running. If it is around 14.1 - 14.7 V or so then your charging system is most likely ok. Start looking for a battery.

You probably don't need a new battery -- it's probably just discharged. It takes a lot more than 5 minutes running the car to recharge the battery. Find someone else to jump it (or go buy a battery charger), drive the car around for at least half an hour or so without turning it off, then let it sit for a while and try starting it up again. Chances are you won't have any problems. If you do, THEN start thinking about replacing the battery.

It definitly sounds like a loose battery cable. When you try and start the car do the interior lights and dash lights blink on and off in time to the clicking? If so, the battery is not making good contact. Check the terminal ends and battery terminals for signs of corrosion(green or white gunk caked on the terminals and on the inside of the terminal ends.
If they are corroded take a piece of steel wool or copper kitchen scratcher or a wire brush and clean both the cable ends including the inside and the battery terminals untill they you see only metal on the battery and the inside of the terminal ends.
Put the cables back on the battery and tighten them down with a wrench, not just hand tight. If it still won't start, jump it and let it run for about thirty minutes to recharge the battery.
FYI, O'Reileys offers FREE battery and alternator testing. If you don't have one in your area, call around to the parts houses and see if they offer it. Chances are good that they do.
But before you do...
Go have a beer and RELAX!!!!!(provided you're of legal age of course)
A dead battery is not the end of the world, most parts houses don't make you pay a core charge on a new one if you bring the old one in and that can save some bucks!!
Good luck and keep us posted.
