One nasty scratch OUCH!!!
Man oh man, yesterday I went downtown CHI town to drop something off at one of my friends place. I parked my car right by the entrance area thinking it'll only take a couple of mins. just to drop the thing at teh receptionist. Well, my friend took a while to be paged so he can come down and pick it up. Since I parked my car by the entrance basically I'm blocking the way in. Went in, open the door and BOOM....MAN my driver side door hit the light pole. I checked it out right away didn't see any scratch well it's dark of course and my car's color which is Black Sand Pearl hid the scratch probably so I told myself aight' just a minor maybe I'll check it out the next day.
I woke up and before I went to work I did check that side luckily I found just a small scratch on the door. Not ever visible to naked eyes u have to take a closer look and it wasn't bad after all. Just applied a clear nail polish coz' using a black color won't make a 100% match so I'll wait until one comes out or maybe get the color code number from the dealer and look for a paint that'll match the color.
Then, my friend and I went to watch I, ROBOT. After the movie, inside the car, I asked him if there was a parking bump right in front of me or watever u call that thing, he said nope. Cool so I started the car and drive it out ffrom the parking lot. I was telling him a story one time my old car a 92 VOLVO 940, ran over a parking bump coz' I forgot that they have one at that lot just didn't realize it until I jump over and the metal crack sound busted my ear. It was real bad coz' I floored the car real good. Anyway, at that time i don't care about it. Then we're about to make a right turn when my friend shouted that I'll hit the corner gutter. I didn't pay attention at him coz' we used to joke around when we drive. Guess what, the car went over the gutter (front and back left side of it). I heard some scratch and at 1st thought, MAN I think I messed up my body kit and my rims. So I quickly parked my car at the side, went out to see what happened. I lost my mood felt real bad about my car coz' I just got it last week. Terrible thing to happened hitting a gutter. Good news for me, there are no major scratch on the body kit only the rims and tires. A scratch probably 2-3 inch on the rims not really noticeable but a scratch is a scratch. The tires wall is peeled maybe 3-4 inch not too deep though just right the top of it. The back rims is ok then some minor scratch on the tires.
1st thing I checked is if the rims in anyway was misaligned or else time to buy a new set. When we drove it home, my friend told me it was fine but I'll probably have it checked just to make sure. Just wondering if somebody from here can tell me what I can do to make that scratch look better I know i cna't take it off all way. And the tires that got peeled, can you tell me what adhesive is best for tires to use since using SUPERGLUE or any fast acting glue might not work best for it. I'll post some pictures tomorrow so u guys can see what I'm talking about.

That sucks man, but it sounds like you aren't paying enough attention to your surroundings and what's going on. Slow down, take your time... your tC isn't going anywhere. I almost always give my car the full walk-around before getting in just to make sure nothing is around it that I can hit or if some other bastard hit it. I paid a lot of money for this damn thing and I'm going to take care of it! *shrugs* I guess it's different if you actually paid for the car yourself versus having your parents buy it for you or getting it as a gift.
And as far as your peeled tires... superglue?? Are you serious?? Get them replaced ASAP before you have a blow out and REALLY ruin your rims!

Man, don't feel bad ____ happens. This will make u feel better: The very first day I had my tC i was driving in a parking lot at night. I was going pretty slow but all of a sudden i felt like i hit something. I got out of the car and there was a small wooden log lying there and i hit it. I guess it was there to divide 2 parking lots. Luckaly there was no damage at all and the log wasn't big enough. But dude you can't imagine how worried I was, I almost had a heart attack  But seriously, ____ happens, next time be more careful...I know I am.
You sure I have to replace the tire? Coz from what I see it looks more of the top surface that peeled. If it went all the way in I guess it should be flat by now. I haven't taken it out yet for a ride since it happened. I really want to take care of my baby
.
Hopefully I get some picture so you guys can see it and tell me what I can do. To be honest I felt like melting in my seat when it happened. I know ____ happens but MAN I was very very very very careful with it. The scratch on the rims I can live just worried about my tires. Do you think I can use the extended warranty that I purchased? Is that part of it or just mechanical stuff only? I know they'll have me pay for it since it was my fault.
The peeled part again is the tire wall and not really a deep one. So applying super glue you think won't help it?

You guys think its worth taking it to the dealer coz' I purchase their extended warranty 7 yrs/100,000 mile bumper to bumper. I called in a while ago to verify it and the guy told me yes. But I don't know yet for sure coz' I know that's cosmetic. That I didn't ask though :? GEE............

Just give it a try and if worst comes to worst they can say no.
