optional's pic thread! now w/moar Bride/Corbeau/Sparco/OEM gfx/Yakima!
Its easy to compliment a good looking car... Yes it's the VSII, I think it was an extra $150 for a hole in it, I kind of regret it when I get caught in the rain, but it looks cool. Question, how do I get the car link under my avatar to show up? Like yours says Scion tC and others show past vehicles. Is that a function of being a regular member?
The link under my avatar is the 'old' profile where you can list current and previous ownership cars, it's before SL got updated to this version of the forum:
https://www.scionlife.com/profile/myotorsports
that is the link *you* have to go to in order to edit the old style car mod list thing, then that 'Scion tC' link will show up under the red bar.
Thanks, I like the lowness too, but still want a lip kit and better fitting wheels haha.
It wasn't super warm, despite the sun, and it's a 15" Pro! Thank you very much!

I have been meaning to ask you about info on pacific raceways, like, what is required to race, how to do you sign up, what it costs, etc.. Should I look into classes and such, (obviously my car isn't set up for it with heavy ridiculous wheels and way low past the point of improved handling and AT lol.)
but yeah, super interested in that.
DUH!!!!!!!!!!!

You won't need to look into classing, you'd likely be just doing HPDE (High Performance Driver/Driving Event) so you don't care about class. It's a run-whatcha-brung setup as long as the car passes tech inspection (which yours should, but might be questionable with the height) you're good to go.
1st time ever out there they require you to take a 1 day (~8hours) instruction session which is like $500 bucks, but totally worth it if you've never been to a track or pushed your car before. They'll teach you saftey, basic lines around the track, and all the stuff you didn't haven't ever learned about your own car. Very worth it. After that It's like $300 to get certified to run alone (without an instructor), then it's anywhere from like $150 to $250 per day after that depending on how long you're going to be lapping. Track time isn't cheap unfortunately.
Don't worry about how your car is set up. Maybe raise it up a little bit as you're very low and your handling has definitely been reduced. AT and heavy wheels mean nothing for HPDE, fast drivers are fast in any car and this isn't a race anyway so it's moot. You have an interior and a system, didn't hear you complaining about that.
Just hit the track, have some fun, learn what you can do, learn what your car can do, cry about your empty wallet after.
Let's talk more about it at the next Meet/Greet or if you want just give me a call and we can talk about it like that. If you do end up going let me know and I'll go with you for the open lapping. I'd love some more tC competition at the track!

Sign ups are done on their site and are pretty easy.

I'd love to go down this summer, sure I could get some parental sponsorship, my dad is interested too in his 335i, he's got sways and short shifter in the mail this week for me to install haha.
Was already expecting to raise the car, probably put stock wheels on so as to not mess these ones up is what I mostly meant, it's sad my stock wheels are lighter than these lol.
Wouldn't hate throwing these raceland coils around something a bit more involved, thought I wouldn't expect them to hold up according to some accounts.
I didn't mention the interior because I'd probably strip it from the front seats back or just remove the subs for the instruction session.
Last time I was at the track I saw a race/track school advertisement on the billboard heading in, is that something a bit more involved or is that exactly what I'm looking for.
I guess if I head to their site it'd answer all my questions and yeah let's talk at whatever meet we're at next together, thanks again!
Got a few things up my sleeve to update my thread, I'm really excited, should be all up before the new year
Definitely taking it up a notch!
