so i'm gonna be getting my tC soon i hope...i'm gonna be payin for the whole car and since i'm only 17 i'm not tryin to spend 22 grand for the special edition....so what options do you guys recommend?...i'm tryin to keep it around 20 grand...i was thinkin door and speaker upgrades...billet grille....ground effects kit, and the window tint....?

 

Springs, Sway bars, s2000 antenna, window tint (optional), and if you could afford it, the ground effects kit is very sexy.

 

get nothing through the dealership. just order a base model and use the money you save on parts later.

well.....then in that case.....get the TRD springs....strut brace....maybe upgrade the rims...but i like my base model rims better than the emx7's.....i also like the TRD 18's....but not for 2000 or 2500 however much they are.....then the rest of it....save for......it's not too difficult...

 

If I were U, I'd get the Ground Effects Kit. Everything else I would save up for.

 

I ordered these options: side impact airbags / curtain airbags + mat/cargo mat + cargo net + alarm
all added about to $19,500 or so.
Now I found out how cheap i can order cargo net and mat from Scionspark.com, I felt stupid...

The only dealer-installed options worth getting are the ones covered by the warrantee. I got mine and i bought my floormats, door sills, and shifter all seperate. I prolly saved half of what it would have cost to get it with the car.

What i DID get with my car is the TRD exhaust (covered by factory warrantee and TRD warranty), the Scion Security System, and Tint.. I know i paid 45 bucks more for the Tint and the exhaust and security system can both be found on Ebay or other websites like www.trdsparks.com or www.toyotaparts4u.com

If you finance outside of toyota, you may be able to get these with the same car loan (financed in)

I heard the Scion Security sucks and it's definetly over priced. Can you get speaker upgrades from the dealer.

Anyway the only thing that I plan on getting from the dealer are the SAB-$650 (but you'll probably wait longer). I'll check on the tint price at the dealer for limo tint when I get my car.

Oh yeah and mine with everything included should be below 20thou.

Most of all don't get the floormats.

 

what is the special edition?

 

just a bunch of parts thrown together on a TC made in south cali or somewhere near with special edition tc stitched into the headrest, a pinstripe down the side and some other factory options and they overcharge by about $800-1000 for the package

just get whatever you want, it's your car but if I were to do it all over again, now, not 4 months ago when I got the car I'd wait until april and order it with the supercharger for under $20,000 and buy everything else aftermarket. But no, I bought a ton of dealership stuff, but got them all at less than MSRP because I got a discount for price-matching elsewhere, so I didn't really lose out, but of course others will

billet grille? speaker upgrade? ground effects kit? spend that two grand on something else or put it in a bank account and wait for the supercharger - and you don't need a speaker upgrade, buy an aftermarket sub box and you'll be fine, the stock system is really nice.

 

So how much is the tint? I'd like to go back to the dealer and get it done.

I have not driven this car in summar here in Texas, but I assume it's gonna be really hot due to the large window area plus the dark interior.

If I do tint with the dealer, what color of tint am I allowed? (maybe just a little bit darker than the law, but still not dark enough to get cop's attention?)
