Default ordering a tC

i recently went to a toyota/scion dealership and was looking around and saw no tC's on the floor or in the lot. i was wondering if it costs anything more to order a scion if theres none in stock, and how long it would take/

It shouldn't be more expensive if you order it or if they have one on the lot. I would suggest doing a credit check and getting a quote with all the options you want first.

At my local dealership there's a $500 deposit. If you buy it goes toward the price of the car. If not I imagine they keep it. So i suppose your free order question depends on whether or not you're going to buy it or not. It would be awfully expensive to order a tC just to test drive it...

No they don't keep the deposit. Some dealers don't even cash it (my first dealer didn't, but the second did). If I don't get my car through them then I get my $500 back.

Yeah when I first looked into getting the car they told me $500 dep. and they would cash it...but it all depends on the dealership, if I were you I'd check around for other Scion dealerships and see if someone has the one your looking for on hand..

just so you know, yes it takes anywhere from 2-6weeks depending on the place. I am in the process in calling places to get mine also. Call all the places around where you live and try to find one that is getting one in first...but yes....u have to wait a few weeks. Also, they dont keep the deposit if you dont want the car (thats what the guy told me ....from the place im gonna give my deposit to)

It all depends on what you want. I've been waiting since OCT 30 for my Azure Pearl, 5spd, and SAB. Then again it probably mostly my dealer, get a dealer with not only good recommmendations but also good tC sales. They'll get the best allocation (the most tCs) in the area.

Once I ordered mine, the dealer just did a dealer trade and got my car from Oregon. I only took a few days. Some dealers won't do that though, so you have to wait to get one from the Port.

my dealer didn't cash my deposit until it was confirmed that the order has been placed. yeah, dealer's stock go fast since it doesn't look like they can order more than just a few at a time for stock

The dealer i went to isn't even taking deposits anymore since their list is crazy long. They told me the wait was going to be like 10 weeks!!!! Needless to say i couldn't believe it but i was told since Christmas and now Tax money people are all trying to buy. Kind of crazy for a dealer to refuse your money!!!! So looks like i have some time to wait and pick what i want.

Most dealerships, including mine, will recieve the deposit and hold it without withdrawing funds from the customer's account. We order or trade with another dealership, get the car in for the customer, then when the customer takes delivery, we offer to have the deposit put towards the down payment or give the money back to the customer. On avg. it's been taking us about 3-5 weeks for orders, sometimes shorter though. Good luck with your order though.

Rice Scion in Greensboro NC promised my car in 2 weeks. Then again, they have the best allocation in the country since they are in the Southeastern Toyota Division
