Default Ow, I'm Hit...

What a great returning-to-school-after-Easter-present . Hit a shredded tire in the road on the way back... tore the left side underbody tube down, popped out the fender-well-liner, and knocked the lipkit off alignment (hopefully that and not damaged it further). Not a huge deal... just not something I wanted to bother with. Stupid tires.

I'll snap a few with my phone in the morning. Checked the damage again... it's dark so I'm not 100% sure yet, but what I know is that the left tube was damaged enough to warrant just cutting it lose (already bought a replacement), the front-lip is pulled down a bit so I'll take it off this weekend and refit it, the fender-liner tore out the nut/bolt that held it to the front-lip so I'll need to just zip-tie it in place, and part of the liner near the wheel has a hole torn in it. Overall, not serious which is good. Just frustrating and a Saturday of work.

Quick question... I'm going to reinforce my tubes by using more mounts and the mounting things that Oznium.com sells I SWEAR I've seen at Lowes/Home Depot before... they're the white U-shaped things that screw into a surface and then allow a zip-tipe to loop through... pic:

What the heck are those things called? I know I've seem them before at stores but in the event I can't just locate them I'd love to be able to ask a clerk without saying, "Yea, the, uh, white-u-shaped-screwy-zip-tie-thingies..."

Checked it today... turns out the lipkit is fine, it's just the lower grille got pushed back off its clips. Easy fix.

I work at Lowes and I dont recall seeing them. But what I used is little plastic U shaped holders that locks around the tube, connects together and allows you to put a screw through it. I know Lowes caries those for sure, I have them on my car and they work great. If you get those you wont even need to worry about zip ties. My streetglow kit came with the same things.

Do you happen to have a pic? Or can you tell me where in Lowes to look for 'em? Thanks!

I dont have a pic but there are in the hardware dept. in little pull out drawers, I looked today, they are called nylon clamps. You get like 3 of them in a bag for like $1.50. If you want I can take a pic of them tommorrow.

Are the adjustable sized clamps or do I need to check the diameter of my tubes? I'll hit up Lowes on Friday when I get home.

I think what you will need is the 1" clamps, they have some give to them so you dont really need to measure the tube. I am pretty sure that most of the neon tubes are the same size. (As far as underbodies go) If anything take your front tube in with you and check it that way. I'd get 8 clamps total. 3 each for the sides and 2 for the front and backs.
