there are also the bolts on the back that you want to tape off. but you can't see those in the pics.

we did one side first and then the other side. just scrubbed the dirt off with a brush, no cleaning solution though cause that would have taken us longer as we would have to wait for that to dry as well. the whole process took an hour.

I've taken some liberties with your picture - hope you don't mind.

Anyway, it looks like there are a few areas you taped off (would have been nice if the tape didn't match the paint color!). On the right is the whole brake disc of course. Then there are two long areas (thin on one end, bigger on the other) on the top and bottom, and then two smaller "D" shaped areas in the middle. Are these the only things you have to tape off? Any other tips? Also, how did you do this? I was thinking I could borrow my GF's jack and do the front two at once, then aftere a while switch to the back two... I wonder how long it would take that way... Did you use any sort of primer or cleaning solvent first?
She painted over it... so of course the tape would match the paint color no matter what tape she used! Heh heh.. just messin with you, had to give you a hard time

Looks good sciongirl, that color really looks nice with the Azure Pearl!

Great job, although i'm not a big fan of that color, it looks nice on your car. I will be painting my calipers red when it's time to change my breaks. So any tips would be appreciated. How many coats did you spray? What brand did you use?

Thanks in advance.

i wasn't a huge fan of the color myself. wanted silver or black, but that wouldn't have really been worth it as silver would look stock and black just looks dirty. my dad wanted me to do red or gold, but i just couldn't see that on my azure pearl. but the color looks nice and i like it now that it's on the car.

paint...

we used plasti-kote engine enamel (resists heat to 500 degrees) in chrysler blue no. 232. would've used caliper paint, but it only came in four colors. 3 light coats.

Thank you for the info. It's good to see how other people do things before you go about doing them yourself. If anyone else has any recommendations, feel free to pm me.

I removed it about 2 weaks after getting my car. I like the No-Spoiler look on the TC The best.

I understand that. Not bashing the spoilers out there, but I love the clean look on any car, and the tC looks hot without the spoiler IMO!

Sciongirl, I tossed it around between the yellow and the red. IMO the RS2 has enough yellow as it was and wanted them to pop out from the style rims I got. As far as the paint, I got mine from the local AutoZone. It is for brake calipers. Also used the brake cleaner, stuff dries within 10 minutes, especially now during the warmer weather. I like the spray method versus the brush on. Make sure if you spray them, do it on a calm day and tape off your vehicle very good. Here's a pic of the spray paint I used.
