That's definitely not new. We've had quite a few threads/posts about that.

The funny thing (to me) is that I don't think it would even sound like a BOV, since it's mostly going to make noise while you're on the gas, instead of letting off the gas. Unless my logic is wrong...

Anyways... going to lock this just b/c it's been talked about so much. But you might want to head over to the Off Topic forum and check out the "mother of all rice" topic there. It's a new one I've never seen before...
