Default Petition for Repair

Ok a little backstory, i have brought my car to the dealership for numerous problems from the second month I have owned the car. oh by the way it is a 2007 scion tc with 57k on it and it has the toyota extra care warranty(7 year 60k miles)

Here is a list of problems:
Dashboard is wavy and uneven in different places

Passenger side motor makes a buzzing noise and takes forever to go up

syncros on transmission go bad and makes it hard to shift gears. when i was driving home they forgot to properly place my airbox hoses and intake tube on the throttle body and the car stalls and bucks until i get home and fix it.

the clutch goes out after 6k

sunroof doesnt seal properly and leaks and makes a whistling noise on the freeway

The subframe bolts where not even tightened and a couple where missing after the tranny repair.

The ebrake cables where not even locking the ebrake up

now my #4 piston has spun a rod bearing and the motor is toast and the dealer is not willing to repair the damage under warranty. they told me to provide a list of paperwork stating that i have either purchased or brought my car in for oil changes. I have provided a whole booklet of warranty work and oil changes for about 3 years.

My petition for all you scion owners having problems with your cars is to sign up and state your claims and I will personally bring them to toyota corporate usa.

heres the petition site
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/car-repair-petition

thanks for reading and please sign this petition as I know I am no the only one that this has happened to.

Have them run an oil test to see if that is the fault then they have ti fix it under warranty if the warranty is still valid. If they refuse to help call Scion corp.

If their not helping you after all the paperwork you have on had then call Scion corp and have the ball rolling see how fast they help you then.

Sounds like you have been running your car hard way too much.

Corporate is a good way to go.

The dashboard is wavy b/c there's an airbag under it... if you have something more severe than that, I want pics.

No idea what is with the motor. But did they replace it? If so, it's not a problem anymore... who cares.

Your syncros go bad AND your clutch went? I find that extremely hard to believe without poor driving habits.

Sunroof can be reprogrammed by disconnecting the battery and resetting it. If that doesn't do it, they should fix it. Did they?

Bolts come loose. It happens. Ever been to a shop and have your tires rotated or anything like that and they have a note on the paper for you to retorque your lugnuts after 100 miles? Same idea.

Ebrake can be adjusted (and often needs to be) - both at the drums and at the actual handle.

Read your warranty paperwork. They can pretty much deny anything if you haven't kept up with maintenance and can't prove it (some dealers are cooler than others about this). No idea what the problem is, but honestly I don't think it's the car.

Most of your problems don't really sound like big issues... certainly not anything to warrant any sort of petition. Sorry you've had the problems you're talking about, but I don't think it's nearly as bad as it sounds. Then again, you may have just gotten a total lemon - and if that is the case you need to contact Scion corporate offices and talk to someone else.

Toyota and Scion warranty = fail....

Every time I go to the dealership they just laugh at me or say they don't cover it without even looking at the problem. I found taking it to the Dodge dealership across the street will however do work on the car under my extended warranty (not a toyota warranty) lol

Instead of trying to find an outside person to fix it... why not try another Scion dealer? Or contact Scion corporate?

My dealer has been fantastic with anything I've ever taken my tC in on. Some are just better than others and if the one you're going to sucks that bad - time to look to another one.

ALL of the Toyo/Scion dealers near me are Don McGill... I went in before I was out of the FACTORY bumper to bumper warranty because my lower control arm and ball joint were broken and the guy looked at me and said 'You hit a curb'... My body kit is lower than any curb out there. He , I **** you not, laughed and said 'Good Luck'. I tried to buy the control arm and ball joint from them to do it myself and they gave me TRIPLE the price of the other Don McGill 10 miles down the road. When I brought this up to a manager he said they are allowed to set the prices for items sold at their dealership. When I mentioned it was another Don McGill he said that they would have to raise the price to match them...

Sounds like you just have terrible luck.
I know I'm not too impressed with my dealership either, but I don't think they are attempting to steal my money as bad as yours are.

I'm sorry, but I have to agree with ack.
A lot of the stuff you stated, is included with normal maintenance that needs to be performed by your self, or pay for it at the dealership.

A lot, if not everything is stated in your owners manual/ warranty paperwork.

I have brought them a whole stack of paperwork stating that every service was brought either to them or a reputable repair shop. I have had my car go through the multi point inspection every single time, and they have only stated that the only thing that I have to take caution of was my brake pads and rotors thats is it.

The dash board was wavy and was warped and had small cracks near the airbag it was replaced under warranty

The window motor was adjusted and no more noise

The sunroof was not adjusted or even looked at from the dealer

The subframe bolts where not checked as part of the multi point inspection which should have been done

I took the car in for the ebrake issue and they didnt even check it

A whole booklet of repairs and service is not good enough? Each one is clearly organized under the date it was done.

whats funny is that my check engine light or my oil light did not turn on or flicker once during any of the years I have had my car, or when my motor blew up.

*new updates!!!
A Lemon Law Attorney has been appointed to this issue as well as consumer complaints, channel 10 news here in san diego, the turko files, and the BBB(Better Business Bureau).
I have filed consumer complaints over the internet and many people that I know that this has also happened to have filed complaints as well to toyota corp themselves and to consumer complaints.

Almost every tC driver I see drives their car like a total douche. Not that I am calling you a douche but as a mechanic, race car builder and someone who has worked at a Toyota dealership, it sounds like you rape the crap outta your car, and your dealership don't want to fix your car anymore because you cost them way too much for warranty repairs. Regardless, good luck. I hope you get the results you are looking for, although I highly doubt it.

i look at it this way...a tc cost more than any other scion...yet it has about the same features...and i'm guessing scion did this figuring they have to do more warrenty repairs...the dealership shouldn't care they already have there money the only company losing is scion and they already had the warrenty repair cost factored in...i have an 07 boosted tc and never had a problem yet

sorry to hear that you have had so many problems with your TC. I just got a 2010 tc and the pasenger side dash is wavy and warped. But I am in AZ and the heat is a problem in that case. The dealer is taking their time on getting back to me for warranty repair on that though.......

however, I am surprised that the dealer has even made any mechanical repairs for you. Based off of your list of mods in your signature, some of those mods typically void any kind of warranty on a vehicle. Especially if the aftermarket parts are not TRD and not installed by the dealer.

best of luck on your repairs.
