I heard $2995 for the unit... I guess no one will absolutely know until it actually is out.

Congrats on the car man. Love that color!

There's a lot of tC reviews in magazines out there that mention the supercharger available as a dealer option. How deceiving.

Well if it makes you guys feel better I was gonna post this in a seperate topic today but, since its already being discussed... I went to my dealer today and asked about the supercharger release date. He didn't know when. So he said let's find out and he dials some TRD parts line, and let's me talk to some dude named eric at TRD. Eric says he just got done installing a supercharger this morning in a tC. He said that they should have an official release date of sometime in the last week of september or the first week of october. He says it has gotten complete certification now and is ready to go just a matter of finishing putting all of the kits together for shipment to the dealers. He came up with that answer of last week in September or first week of October pretty quickly as a matter of fact that is the first thing he said right after I aske him when the release date is. So hopefully this vaporware will come to fruition.

3200 dollars for a 40-50 hp gain seems steep to me.

If it's 6 PSI as originally stated in the anouncement, it'll be more than 40-50HP. Turbo's running 6 PSI are putting 240HP out at the wheels. Toyota has a history of understating HP numbers for insurance purposes.

There havent been any problems getting the SC to work at all. It's been developed for over a year now. The entire delay process is do to legal issues after a completed lawsuit where a mother lost her child in a car accident after he got a certian TRD option installed on his new Toyota vehical. She sued, she won, toyota/trd decided to revise some of their policies.

The good ol' American way. I hate when people blame others for their own mistakes. The lady who sued McDonalds because her coffee was too hot really annoyed me too.

acutally you should see better gas milage with any form of forced induction its just the fact people tend to push the pedal harder since they know they have it and rev the engine more....since its a centrifigual s/c you should notice a few extra mpgs on it.

Doesnt more air = more gas? Maybe that xra gas pushes you the extra bit farther?

A little more air is good for milage. A lot more air means the combustion gets really hot so the ECU dumps more fuel in. FI lowers milage substantially normally.

A first stage turbo without ECU upgrades might yield better milage though.. running pretty low boost. The key to milage is leaning out but that can be dangerous.

I thought the whole point was to add more air which allows you to add more fuel which = more power.
