Picture of cargo floor mat
Yes, I am very frugal (read: cheap) and opted not to get the $145 floor mats set from the dealer. The thin-ness, size and quality of the stock mats just didn't justify the $145 price tag.
I just picked up a pretty sweet 4 piece set from Walmart. "Premium, Durable rubber and velour capet with non-slip backing" (71051 BLACK) for ~$20. The carpet on these mats are THICK. Not to mention the back seat rugs aren't little squares. They actually fill up the whole back seat floor area.
Now, I am looking to get the cargo carpet for the trunk. I haven't got the chance to see the stock ones in person. Does anyone have a picture of the trunk mat that they can share?
How's the quality, thickness and size?
Does it fit the whole trunk/cargo area (custom shaped)?
...or am I better off getting a generic rectangular one from Target?
I was thinking about picking one up from McGeorge's for $32. Just wanted some opinions.

I would suggest getting the one from McGeorges. It says scion on it. The thickness is average. It is a basic mat. Nothing too special but it does fit the hatch area because it has the same shape.
You did know that if you had ordered the mats with your car they are covered under the warranty. Several people have worn them out and had them replaced. Just something to think about.

stock cargo mat is thicker than floor mat inserts..also has cut outs for the tie-down buckles and scion logo..pretty basic...cheap way to go would be to measure cargo area and go to a carpet store and buy a piece of durable carpet..then cut it yourself..i'm doing this for the floor mats while i have the carpet section out for the winter..going to buy a piece of black heavy traffic carpet for a few bucks and use the stocks as stencils.
The cargo cover is nice to get if you have pets or haul stuff from time to time. It fits over the top of the rear seat (under the headrests) so it covers the entire area. I just take it off and shake it out when it gets dirty.
