Once the car is totalled, and the insurance company is paying for your new car, the totalled vehicle becomes the property of the insurance company. You can't start scavenging it for parts.

This is the accident that occured when I was going 40 MPH and the ABS locked up in the rear which sent me spinning as I did move around an animal. The ABS locked up as I was going back into my lane. It was a defect but it is undetermined if it is on all the tC's. Hopefully it is just mine. Yeah I am OK. I am actually standing in one of those pics. I am just real soar. The pains in my hip and left arm are getting worse like the Doc said they would. I should be back in work nect Wednesday though so here is hoping I get better sooner. I want another tC real bad. My g/f who was in the accident needed a new car so she went and bought the Corolla S today. She had the same salesman as I did and he told her that if I was planning on getting another tC than I better hurry because the wait will be tremendous. That is the only problem with the damn cars; you have to wait forever and I NEED a car, I do not have the time to wait a month or more. Classes start Aug. 30 at college. In anycase, due to the amount of protection it offered and how well we came out of the crash, I want another one real bad. I did manage to take some stuff from my car while it was at the impound lot. I took the Grill that says Scion, it popped off in perfect condition, ditto with the left headlight, that is in perfect condition and it popped right off in the accident. I also took my liscence plate, duh. And I got my floor mats. HAH. The rest of my car is now in Allstate's hands. I called Scion and made a claim about the brakes and that was that. I will most likely get nothing from this except screwed, that seems to be my Karma but I am still waiting to hear back from my insurance agent about things and if they plan on investigating. Should be sometime this week that I hear from them. I am hoping for the best and that my Insurance does not sky rocket or drop me. Thanks for the Well Wishes.
