You definitely are not overreacting. I would be so mad, and I would have done the same thing. Keep pestering them though, because you ddefinitely can't let them get away with this!

Id be ____ed. Dont let the brand of car you drive give you an opinion of a the whole company. No matter what you buy there are good dealers and bad dealers. Try a different one.

I had the supercharger installed from a different Scion dealer because it was closer to work and having met a few people there from local Scion events found them to be pretty nice. Later I took my car into the dealer I bought it from for a free oil change I was told they didnt want to work on my car because they hadnt installed my supercharger. After them _____ing about how this hurt their business they got over it and did the work but not before a lot of complaining.

I would be ____ed too, but it's one of those instances where having a capable vocabulary is counterproductive.

I could have reduced that response to three little letters, and a bit of punctuaion.

WTF?!?!?!?!

I was told that the entire service department had only one person who had the skill to properly install the appliqué and that one person happens to be off.
I almost choked on my tongue laughing at that.

www.labbb.org

complain their asses.

To be honest you was under-reacted (if this is a word). Before your next trip to the dealership, call in if that one person is there to install your thing. Ask how long is the wait. Then after the service is finish check if the quality of work is done. Pay them.

Go to the other boards and spread the words of this to warn others about this.

True, you have a Scion not a Lexus. But you still shouldn't be treated like Sugar Honey Ice Tea. Sending in the response you posted to the dealership will most likely get you nowhere because the people there sound inept and have the I.Q. of a Big Mac. I would send it to Scion Corp. though. Maybe they can investigate that particular dearlership? Hopefully, you can get your ish resolved. After that, GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP! Just because you purchased your tC at that particular dealership doesn't mean you have to get it serviced there. Good luck!

I had a similar experience when I had my TRD springs installled. They ended up knocing half the labor cost off it was so bad. I was careful how I handled it though.

Just remember: ____ing off the dealership is like ____ing off the pizza guy. There is a period of time where you aren't around and, he is alone with your pizza/car and you don't know what may go into it/happen to it. And it's alway's your word against theirs. The best thing you can do is switch dealerships...or pizza guys.

Tomorrow I will let them know that I don't trust them with my car and that I wish to watch them work on it. If they argue any thing with me I'm giong to ask for a refund and take off. That's the end of that. After my entire ordeal and the fact that they overfilled my crankcase with more than 1/2 quart of oil during my horrible visit I doubt they will contest me.

%@&#($%()#$(*#%@%*#&$*% THEY MESSED UP AGAIN AND WASTED ANOTHER 2 HOURS OF MY TIME!!!!!! I'm so fed up I just asked for a refund. They were nice enough to let me have an applique for free in case I were up to doing it myself. With some soapy water a friend and I put it on with little trouble. Damn Claremont Toyota is incompetant. For those mathematically inclined:

Day 1: 3 hours wasted and a crankcase that is over filled. Day 2: 2 hours wasted, utter failure in applying the applique.

Total failed attempts by dealer (calc. by # of appliques used/wasted) 5

Doing it myself: 100% success rate.

I HATE THE DEALERSHIP!!!

Wow, I think you are taking this very well. You should take everyones advice and make some calls. I am sure you will talk to someone who will sympathize with you and probably give you something to make up for the horrible experience.

They gave me a free applique for me to install myself. Other than that I sent letters to corporate and all managers at the dealership. So far my impression is that they don't give a ____.

Oh and just as a side note, I won't take my car to a dealer anymore either. A couple months ago i had the pedestal spoiler installed, cost 6xx for the part, and 3xx for the labor, 3 and a half freakin hours to install, but whatev, ya know i was just happy to have it. So when i pick up my car the spoiler has a scratch along the whole back side, as if it was set on the ground and picked up carelessly, but thats not the main kicker. My clutch slipped leaving the dealer and kept slipping as i drove home. I had to get it replaced 10 days later!!! I even wrote to Scion themselves and they sent me a fudging apology jada toy.

F the dealerships around here, needless to say I have never been back.

Damn man, 600 bucks for the part and 300 for labor? if you added it to the car when you bought it, it would have been like 450 total. I actually installed mine with a friend over the weekend. The part cost me 260, template was another 25 and another 25 for all the tools I didn't have. Another lesson to DIY.

I know i got raped, but it was awhile ago and i couldn't find one anywhere else for cheaper after shipping. Plus I didn't wanna take any chances drilling my own holes, even with the hole template. But really did it take you 3.5 hours like it did the dealership, i woulda thought like 45-60 minutes tops. They're supposed to be professionals at this stuff.

With my friend's help we did it in like an hour, this was taking our time and assessing the situation before actually doing things.
