Poll: Income level of TC owners??
So what is the average income earning for tC owners out here? I'm just curious to see where I'd fall in my current income and where others are. On a related topic, did any of you looked at getting a much more expensive car (BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Infiniti, etc), but choosed the tC instead?
I own a few cars and a bike, the tC was just a "smart" car to buy for the money. It has everything you need, plus the reliability of a Toyota. I've looked at, and owned much more expensive cars (and still do), but for the money the tC was a perfect buy, couldn't pass it up.
Thought of bmw 3-series, but tC is way more bang for the buck... Plus I am strictly against buying the most expensive car you can afford - I usually look at the max payment I can comfortably swing, divide it by two and go from there.
well this is my 5th car in a yr and half span...i started out with a 95 eclipse gs (booo) def RICED out ...lol at least i have the ***** to admit it..i had it when i thought AUTOZONE PARTS WERE THE BEST PARTS TO GET FOR A CAR...lol then my 2nd car was a celica gts (very nice) ...looked like the bat mobile..than i got a ACURA RSX TYPE S (loved the car...hard to see it go but i moved on my owna nd i THOUGHT i couldnt afford both), then i got a cheap 01 civic EX (very slow and ugly)..than i realized i could def afford livin on my own and a $16000+ car..so thats when i got the TC.....im 21 and i make around $40-$50k a yr...so its all good...so far so good just awaitin parts to come out
Seems like a lot of us were looking at more expensive car, but I think the Scion offers a lot of what some of those cars offer at a very low price. I really do think it's a great value for what you're getting.
The income level's pretty surprising, too, considering most buyers are in the $40K-$50k range (if people aren't lying, of course

I was really close to buying a Mazdaspeed Protege when they came out. Had a deposit on an orange one. Well, it got delayed, and by the time the orange came in the yellow and titanum ones were coming soon, so I got my deposit back. I did want a titanium instead, but by that point the Mazda3 was right around the corner. I like the Mazda3, but it didn't have enough styling and features to make me forget it's a high-line econobox. A friend of mine got a titanium 3s four door loaded with everything but leather, and I like it a lot.
Then I kept on thinking, "Ok, so if I get a sporty econobox for $20k, with say 160-170hp, and the car I've been driving is 130hp, I'm paying $500 per hp." So if I'm gonna spend the money to get performance, why not go all out? I started very seriously considering a WRX STi. Figured I could get a leftover 2004, put about $5k down and have a reasonable payment. But then still I was looking at performance over all else, and the STi wouldn't even have a radio, let alone sunroof, etc.
The tC was the best choice for me. Sporty enough, comfortable enough (I have a feeling STi owners get a lot of complaints when hauling people around) with enough power and creature comforts out the wazoo. Plus, it's a Toyota!
So, what was I saying? Yes, I considered more expensive cars, but in the end, I prefer to pay a little and get a lot.

I make $10 bucks, and i'm a full-time college student. please no one kill me when I say this but, I don't have any bills, nor do I pay for school. I do, however, pay for my car payments, just not insurance..
I own two other cars and a bike and the Tc was just a good buy besides where can you get this kind of quality product for this prize and also you don't have to spend a whole lot of money to make it a good project.....the Tc is a good buy is fun, drives and feels good.....
I was driving a Honda Accord 93, then got in an accident (it's for sale now), then I put a down payment on a new IS300, then backed out and opted for a used Audi A4 (for the quattro). I was then seriously considering a WRX, possibly an STI....but then saw the new corvette and decided I needed one of those. So, I bought the tC as an economical and money friendly alternative to the A4 (this is also for sale) in an attempt to save enough money for the down payment on the C6.
FYI: In the detroit area, 50 thousand a year is nothing to brag about....I think the poll should have a couple more options (for higher pay).
