Default possible bearing problem?!

hello all, I have a 3.5 month old tC. A few days ago, I felt as though the idle was a bit loud, almost a grinding sound but didnt inspect anything. So today as I was backing into the garage, and shut off the radio and windows closed.... the idle is loud! I step on the clutch pedal and the noise went away. I immediately think bearings inside the tranny! How can this be? This happened to my brother's car too but his car is 13 years old! Do any of you folks have the same issue? Is this normal?!

well, went out for a drive..... I think I'm just bit too rushed with the judgement. It really isnt a bearing problem but there is sound when the car is idling and I rest my foot on the clutch pedal but goes away after the clutch is completely depressed or completely let go.
I know it's not a good idea to rest the foot on the clutch pedal and this noise gives me another reason not to.

No, it goes away when the clutch is completely depressed. That and a throw out bearing would not make a sound when its cold, and make noise after it heats up. It sounds to me your just slipping the clutch somehow. Don't ever rest your foot on the clutch!!!

3.5 mo old? The problem isn't going to "heal" itself. You've got a warranty, and you've got an issue that's easily repeatable. Take it in, take it in...

Thanks for the replies. Well, I was wrong about my drive last night. Today, my car had symptoms I had originally posted about. And yes, the sound isnt present when the engine is cold. It isnt very noticable and I think if it were a semi-common problem, ppl may not notice this b/c most ppl seem to turn up the radio to drown out the rattles which would also drown out this tranny noise.
As for warranty, I dont think the dealer will do anything as of now b/c it's not horribly loud. I may wait until a month or 2 to see if it gets louder.
Also, would the short shifter have caused this? I would think it only affects the shift forks, not the bearing.

To g3ekko, how is this problem easily repeatable?
Thanks again everyone.

Thanks for the pic. I have seen a very similar one as well from my brother's 13 year old Honda.

How is it repeatable? If you can a.) do something with the car to make the problem happen or b.) predict the circumstances that cause the issue (ie, when the engine warms up), then it's repeatable.
