i have never attempted to pushstart any car. we were going to try on my old ford aspire, but we were scared that we could explode the clutch and never be able to get it back up the hill.

i wonder if you could do it to a tC. just wondering, i would never do it.
is it even possible with an auto?

 

anything is possible :D Someone did a s2OOO push start button in a Z. Works fine.

 

I wouldn't think that it would hurt the car. . . I couldn't see how. FYI, if you decide to do it, it's much easier if you use 2nd gear.

And no, to my knowledge, it's not possible in an auto.

 

you can push start a car if its a manual transmission. make sure the key is on. push the car and when you get going push the clutch in and put it in 3rd and let it out. should start.

 

ah yes. . . third can work too. . . depending on the car. 1st is a biotch. . . don't even bother trying.

 

yeah if anyone from SCV chimes in we Pushstarted my TC!! hahah the kill switch the dealer put in my car malfunctioned and we had to push start it LOLOL

 

Reverse is the easiest to push start your car. I found rolling it backwards then putting it in reverse and popping the clutch. not hard.

 

i don't think he means the push start button. he literally means pushing the car till it starts like if your battery died or something.

actually.. i also had to have my key in the igntion and the kill switch engaged.. or else it wouldnt turn on... and my kill switch is hidden hehe

i'm guessing because of the torque convertor setup right? like it shouldn't go in reverse to spin up the engine.
