Default First time track run....NOT SO GOOD

Well I finally took the tC out to the local track to see what it would do and didn't do to well. Has been a long time since I ran a car and that was an automatic. All three runs were in the 17's. Spun off the line and missed third gear in all three runs. Was beat by most cars that this thing should have taken. Here are my times.

1. reaction time 1.410
E.T. 17.314@80.426

2. reaction time 1.194
E.T. 17.698@79.884

3. reaction time .980
E.T 17.295@81.026

So.....any suggestions on getting better times? I have a Weapon-R intake coming in this week and will go back next week to try again.

Work on your reaction times, it will make a big difference.

Well, to start....get a better reaction time. Shoot, the other guy was at the end of the run drinking coffee j/k.

Actually, getting a better reaction time, not missing gears, CAI or short ram intake, header helps, cat back exhaust.

I bet if you get a better reaction, shift better and a new intake...your in the 15's easily.

Went right from 2nd to 6th, then had to clutch and bang back into 3rd. Lost a lot of time just doing that. Of course I was the only tC out there so wanted the folks to see what it would do. After three runs left with my tail between my legs.

when i shift to 3rd i only use my palm to push the shifter straight up. the shifter will naturally go to the center

if you are letting the clutch go at the green and you get bad r/t times try letting the clutch go at the last yellow light.

True... most trees are set to the average human reaction time. If you start to release when you see the yellow, you will actually hit it on green.... most of the time ;-)

I can do better in my AT man!

Take out excessive weight. This might help take out Windsheild washer liquid, take out all seats except drivers' seat, spare tire, heat sheild under the hood and blast your heat on. :D

Reaction times have nothing to do with your overall E.T. If he wanted he could sit there for three seconds then go and would be the same E.T. The reaction helps determine wins and losses sometimes but not E.T. Practice and find the spot your car likes best and the times will drop.

learning to launch your car will be much better than trying to go faster with an intake and its free

17's!!! OMG better luck next time buddy...

and yes it has beed stated MANY times in many a forum that reaction time means squat..there is a sensor that trips the timer when you roll past it.. you could have a 1/2hour reaction time and still get 15's...

if you cant launch it and you spin off the line for 2 seconds then you run a 17 instead of a 15

2 seconds is a long time of spinning
