So true.

If they keep the name "tC" expect it to get bigger and heavier.

I'd prefer a next gen AE86 with the 1.8 and RWD. Drop the tC and just call it a tE

They should just call it the aE then.
haha! Good thought, but AE series is meant for Corollas only. The 1.8L idea would be great, or a 2.0L. But most on this site seem to rather have a big low tech motor than a high tech high revving lower torque motor.

A small rwd (or fwd for that matter) coupe with a 1.8 or 2.0 would be pretty sweet - especially if it's efficient. I'd even trade my tC in for something smaller. Oh, and "E" would be the next letter if Scion were to change the name. And xE wouldn't be a bad name if it were AE86 related...

I'd just like a little coupe with the styling of the tC and the efficiency of the Yaris. Is that so much to ask for?

you and I are on the same track.

Toyota can do it for $20K

The tC msrps at $17,000. The V6 engine is only a $2,200 option on the Camry so I'm sure Toyota can make a V6 tC for under $20,000.

I read in Road and Track that Toyota plans on bringing back the a car similar to the AE86 sometime around 2011. They even have a pic of the new car in the magazine. SO I doubt that they will bring out a Scion "badged" RWD, Tc.

Any new info about this? All I know right now is the 09 tC will take the same curves of the fuse..

Also anyone else here about the scion xR? Something about a 4d rally inspired scion, maybe something on the lines of a matrix and a wrx that is supposedly coming out 09 too

Well, with the new RWD Tiburon coming out, Toyota needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

No kidding. The spy shots make me excited! HAHA, too bad it's a Hyundai ... :p I'm sure Toyota has something up it's sleeve ... I mean, they were ultra successful with the Scion brand you know.

I am definitely not a fan of the FUSE, It looks like an engineering masterpiece but I think it's ugly as all get out.

I have to agree here... I absolutely HATE the lines of the FUSE. It literally reminds me of the new xB, only not as tall. scion really doesn't need another box - one is enough.

not that i dislike the new xB... quite the opposite in fact. I just don't think those lines have any place on a sporty 2-door coupe. the new tC should be an improvement over the old... sleeker, lighter, somewhat more powerful (~200hp with RWD certainly... perhaps even the 09 matrix AWD setup, which I would be quite happy with using the 2az if they did it) and should remain a hatch of course.

How about some with out the black cloak?

I'm going to test drive one of these when it comes out. And if I like it, I just may pick one up.

I unno, it's going to take more than a few good years to shake that past. I mean, it's what we know them for, its what made them famous/infamous

If that's the new RWD Tiburon, then I might just get a Hyundai for the first time. After all, their quality has kicked the european's **** (Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW... etc).
