Default Problem with clutch

Around nov/dec I noticed that my clutch started squeaking a lot whenever i pressed the pedal in. I just thought that something might have gotten wet/a little rusty and all it needed was some lubrication. The sound kept getting worse and I noticed that my shifts were always very rough, it was tough getting a feel for where the clutch started to grab. I brought into the dealer recently and they said that the clutch pedal spring was binding and out of position. They repositioned the return spring and the car was fine for a few days. I was able to shift smoothly again. Then about a week later i noticed a very faint squeak (similar to the original squeak back when it started) and the shifts aren't smooth again. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be. Could it be possible that the return spring went out of whack again in such a short time? I don't wanna go back to the dealer with such a faint squeak cause it is barely audible, but the shifting is definitely bad again, but that's a subjective matter, so they'll probably say its nothing. I compared it with my friend who also drives a 5speed tC and its much easier to get a feel for the clutch in his car than mine. I don't think the clutch is worn out though, the car only has 6000 miles and I'm very easy on it & don't ride the clutch at all.

I'm not normally one to be a stickler...but did you SEARCH on this topic??? Myself, and many others, have been posting about this for the past year.

It took me about 7-8 trips to the dealership, but they finally (temporarily) solved the squeaky clutch. Basically they just lubed the heck out of the whole assembly!! It felt loose as hell and hard to control clutch pedal for the first few days, but since then its worn in and I've had no complaints..

Actually the other day when it snowed the pedal was squeaking REAL loud for a whole day, then it just stopped the next day, and i haven't noticed it since then.

But the bigger picture is, there is DEFINITELY an issue with the 2005 TC clutch pedal assembly squeaking (ITs even louder OUTSIDE the car than inside) It sounds HORRible and is mOST Definitely NOT something i expected when a bought a toyota/scion product.

I'm actually quite upset that I've had so many issues with the clutch and have not heard squat from scion about it!

Really? I visit the forums alot and i didnt think much about it, i went out anc checked it, but i didnt get on my hands and knees, but it sqeeked both when i turned on and off the car, and seems like its more worse in cold weather.

Anyway, my clutch doesnt seem rough....but not sure, i mean its wierd but i dont know if its like this or not, i havent driven many stick cars. I also switched to syn tranny fluid.

Well, i will take a closer look and lube some things, not sure what, but i will once the weather warms up.

Keep us posted on your current situation. Oh and me taking it to the dealer, is quite hard, the fuss, plus i am at 28k now.

I did a search, and came up on topic you're referring to, but my main problem is not the squeak, it's the way the clutch is actually engaging. It feels very rough and it takes a lot of effort to get a smooth shift. Previously the car was fine, but the past couple of months I've really had to concentrate on exactly where it grabs, whereas it used to be extremely easy to find.

My clutch squeaked the entire first 6 or 7 months I had the car. I had it in to the dealer about 3 or 4 times for it.. each time they said nothing was wrong and they just lubed the clutch. the noise eventually stopped, but i still worry on and off about the overall quality and durability of the clutch.

Ok, so last night and today it was around upper 20's and i dont usually complain, and i was thinking i just needed to lube it, but this morning when i was driving to class, it is makeing the squeak sound even louder, but now, when i am releasing the clutch there is a crunch sound...O_O yea, lol i am so shocked right now, and i dont really now whats going on, there is the squeak sound then the crunch sound.

I hate to do this, but i think i am going to have to go to the dealer, and hopefully they will help me.

Oh yea, when you guys say its the clutch you guys are saying its the assembly right(as in the arm lever)? Not the Actual clutch itself? Is that correct?

Yes, the pedal assembly inside the car, not the actual clutch itself. (at least that's what I'm talking about

Ok so when you get the crunch sound let me know. I have driven my car about 28k now, and 85% highway, so i didnt drive much city, but still, the crunch sound is hella wierd.lol

I know not a laughing matter, but i think my shifts are rougher, but i cant really recall since i forgot....but not smooth.

mine kinda did that too.. scared the hell outta me thats why i kept taking it back to the dealer. after enough lube i guess, it finally stopped.. i could be wrong (of course), but i wouldn't worry "too" much- i really think lubing it might help.

To pull up an old thread:

I'm having this same problem with the clutch pedal squeaking. The temp is starting to change here, but it is still in the mid 50s, although humid. It only happens only sometimes, but when it does happen, it happens for the whole trip until I give it a rest. Any update? I'm sure most of you have had it fixed by now...
