Default Problem with my tC

This morning when I drove my car to work, I noticed that when I go over the slightest bumps or uneven roads, somewhere around my left front wheel area, there's this clunking noise. It's very bad and it even feels bad. So I took it to Les Schwab and they say that it has something to do with my springs or there's a loose nut on the tower or something with the struts and/or shocks. I do have aftermarket springs on the car and I'm gonna take it back to the place that installed them for me. Does anyone know the exact cause (I know it's very hard to tell me what's wrong from my description) or any other suggestions/ideas? Thanks a lot!

Its you trying to shift into 7th gear...stop it. There is onlly 5 gears to the tC and the gear opposite is Reverse...dont try to shift in to that as your 6th gear....

Honestly...its probably what the dealor said. If the place forgot to put back in a lock washer or something and a screw came undone. Depending on your spring too it could be the springs compressing and making noise.

Without feeling and seeing and hearing an issue its very hard to pinpoint an answer.

Is it like a popping noise? Check your front sway bar! It gets loose when you install springs.

i think the "popping" noise would be the best description for it. i'll tell them to check my front sway bar and things like that. the only other thing i can tell you is that they install my springs months ago, probably more than 6 months ago and just today, this problem happen. it didn't happen right after they install it. but it's good to know that it's not anything so serious like my springs are about to collapse on me. and by the way, i'm dropped on hotchkis springs. that's the only suspension mod that is done to the car.

I had that same problem on my celica when it was lowered for about a year and it was the struts. They could be shot on yours as well.

i hope my shocks/struts didn't blow out. i don't think they would replace that under warranty. i just hope that something like the sway bar or a nut/bolt came loose.

I had the same problem after I put my springs on. All I had to do was pull back the plastic above the passenger side shock, pull off the rubber cover, and re-tighten the nut in the middle. It wasn't quite tight enough. Once I tightened it to spec, the noise went away.
