Default problem with steering...help

so lately i have been hearing this creeking noise coming from around the steering wheel when i turn. the faster i turn the wheel, the higher the pitch of the sound. then the other day in the morning (it was probably in the low 60s) i noticed a similar noise from under the pass side dash around the glove box when i turned the wheel.

what can this be? the car drives normally this happens a few times a day and it is getting annoying. i also tried to adjust the height of the steering wheel. i normally drive with it all the way down. so i put it up and it still made the same noise.

i hope its not my suspension that is somehow causing this.
i am dumped on f2 version coils probably a good 3.5-4 inches...

the car is a 05 and is about to hit 60k miles in a few days probably...

another thing. do you guys think that steering is covered under the 5yr/ 60k drivetrain warranty?? i just checked my miles and its 59745...

It's probably the PS itself, maybe the belt or the PS pump.

try tightening the top coilovers? mine did that and i always tighten the top with a 17mm box wrench when it creeks.

Whether it's covered or not depends entirely on the nature of the problem. Does it only happen when turning or does it happen when you go over bumps to?

its only when the wheel is turned. i dont think it has anything to do with the coilovers. it almost seems like the noise is coming from inside the cabin at times...

This morning i brought the car to toyot. The service ppl here said that it would not b covered under warranty because it seems to be a wear and tear issue. They said it seems like a busing on the steering column needs to be lubed. They are taking a look at it right now so ill keep u all posted. He did say that its common.
