Default Problems with my tC

Here are a few problems I am experiencing.. Let me know if you have them as well...

usually when I hit a pothole or a few hard bumps in the road, i hear a popping sound coming from the front of the car (drivers side) It sounds horrible, like metal is hitting metal HARD!

Also When I'm cruising doing 35 and above, I hear a whistling noise coming from the windsheild. This is ____ing me off!

Roof makes sound. Already know about TSB need to get it done.

I have a 5-speed tC and when the AC is on I find it hard to launch from 1st (and I don't mean racing) Maybe it has to do something with the ClutchMasters cluytch I got installed? Anyone experiencing this?
Another problem, the fabric on the seats is cheap! I have tears everywhere, especially where the rear side exit hatch is on the side. I had it replaced but the guy did not install it right! (don't go to New Rochelle Scion)

Thats pretty much it for now.

does your whistling sound seem anything like my whizzing sound in this topic?

Do you have lowering springs? Large potholes.. it's normal for there to be a small clank. If it's loud and violent and you have lowering springs, your spring is not set properly or your strut isn't. I had htis happen to me, took strut assembly out and reconstructed it being a little more mindful the second time around, and it went away. Check the center bolt too, to make sure it's extremely tight.

Sorry for your problems. Definitely take to dealer and have a mechanic ride with you so you can point out problems. I have had my moonroof fixed but my car seat fabric is fine. No better/no worse than other cars. Could they have damaged your seats during any installs?

As mentioned, the AC will suck some power from the system. Once the AC clutch is engaged it takes a good amount of power to turn the compressor. Its not really that bad though, just give it more gas. I find that many people are afraid of revving it more on takeoff.

If you have shorter springs they are probably bottoming out. Potholes will do this with stock springs. If you have installed lowering springs (such as the trds), did the installer replace or cut down the bump stops? IF not that is probably your issue.

My fabric is as good as any other I have had. I moved the entire contents of my apt a few blocks to a new one in my tC, minus the big furnature. I moved large book cases, TVs, sound system, tons of stuff without damaging my interior. 19k miles now and not a single tear in it.

The whistle... are you sure it is not the airbox whistle? When you hear it, back off on the throttle and then push down on it. If it comes and goes it is from the intake/throttle body. All tCs make that noise. If that is not it, then take it in and have them check the seals. There may be one not installed correctly. A guy I know said he had to make his dealer replace one of the windshield seals that was not seated correctly on his.
