Default Q? about the scion security?

i'm not going to bored everyone with the same question that "mine doesnt beep when i lock or unlock and it only flashes" my question is, having the scion security key and all does the alarm ever goes on? i had my car for about a year now and i have ever heard it to go on. How hard you have to hit the car cus with my old hyundai 00 accent i would hear the alarm a lot of times but not with my tc.

Seems like you can turn the beeps on and off...I think.

Do a search here...there's a thread about programming it.

it's not supposed to beep.

alarm comes on when people try to break into your car... via.. i.e .. opening car from inside... breaking the window... pretty much.

it's all sensitivity... and it can be adjusted.
and oh yeah.... no shock sensors.

you wanna hear the alarm? roll your window down... arm it... wait still the light blinks.. and then try opening the car by reaching inside and grabbing the handle..

that or take your key and tap your window.. you might have to do it hard.

so whats the difference if you didn't even get it anyway?? don't people without the alarm still have keyless entry and panic?

difference? hmm.. horn starts honking if someone breaks your window..

imo.. it really doesn't do much.... besides.. most thefts nowanddays are "smash and grab"... even with the most expensive alarm systems out there.... (even two-way pager systems)

... by the time you get back to your car.... they took whatever they could and you have a broken window.

and yes.. keyless and panic come stock.

Ah....I thought you guys meant the beeps when you arm and disarm the alarm. Not the actual horn when the alarms is set off...my bad.

and if someone breaks your window the alarm goes off. They tell you all it has is glass breakage sensor before you buy it. If you ask before just tossing money around. Do agree its a bit pricy, I did it to limit people messing with the wiring.

You can however get something better that has more to offer, for the same price or lower, although a lot of car options are like that.

Has anyone had their tC stolen yet with scion security on it?

even without security.. the car comes with an engine immobilizer.

only way you'll be able to steal it is if you have a repo/tow truck.

as far is getting broken in or vandalism? like i said.... nothing won't stop that from happening.

I agree w/ squalheart.
They don't have arm/disarm beeps.
You're probably better off with the lower cost aftermarket alarms if you want those door lock chirps.

YES the Scion Security System does have Arm/Disarm Beeps. I wanted mine to beep so I know that it locks or unlocks my car. In order to have your security system beep, you need to activate it. By activating the beeps, turn on the engine and press the button of the actual light from the security system. Turn the engine off and then lock your vehichle. You will hear one beep (this is in arm mode). To unlock the vehicle press the button and you will hear two beeps (this is in disarm mode). I hope this answers your question, that there is a way to have your Scion beep with the Security System.

.......

you don't have scion security then.

there's no use arguing... it's been discussed hundreds of times.

I bought the $400 upgraded security alarm from factory squall. Go try yourself if you have one and believe me it works.
