Question about INSIDE of Typhoon intake.
I've got the K&N typhoon for some time.......and I don't know why this hasn't bothered me before, because i knew it was there when I installed the intake (the "it" to be explained...NOW). Well, there's a small semicircular metal plate inside the intake that sits in front of the MAF.......as if to direct the airflow around the maf.
Does anyone know why this is there? Does this affect the flow? Does it confuse the MAF? I imagine K&N knows what they're doing.......but I don't know what they're doing......and I'm curious to know.
Anyone got an answer for me?
Thanks
KiL

Yea, I know what you mean. I think it's because they used the wrong size intake tube. It's supposed to have 2" pipe around it, and they used 2.5" so they had to use some silly flow director.
All I know is, that my car was more than a half second slower 0-60 on a Gtech after I installed the intake, only thing different was it had 1kmi more on it...
